Born on 29 November 1925 in, Ashville, NC. He attended Brownsville High School. He later joined the Navy and served until retirement in 1968. Upon returning to San Antonio he worked in insurance, carpet cleaning and repair and was one of the original pickers, back when they were called junkers. He had small parts in the movies Viva Max! and The Sugarland Express. It was said in the early 80's when a couple of northern usurpers tried to scale the walls and steal the flag at the Alamo, Mr. Dale arrived and promptly threw one of the yahoos off the rampart and had cornered the other when the police arrived to take the yankees into custody, thus making Mr. Dale the Last Man to Defend the Alamo and live to tell about it.

Mr. Dale is survived by his daughters Gail Dale of Jourdanton, Ella Mae Olinick of Universal City, and Penny (Mike) Brehm of Universal City, his sons Billy Jr. of Live Oak, James of Live Oak, Donald (Trisha) of Converse, his brother Bob of Cibolo, grandchildren Keith (Tracy) Melotte, Tina Melotte, Tom Melotte and Vicki (Dan) Reynard all of Green Bay, WI, Heather (Jeff) Womack, Schertz, Christina Olinick, Universal City, Michael (Brittany) Brehm, Katy, TX, John Brehm and Hannah Brehm, both of Universal City, and great grandaughter, that held a special place in his heart, Hope Womack. Also many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Malia Dale, parents Harold and Ella Mae Dale, sister Patty and daughter Linda Prevost. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be conducted, 9:30 am Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, with an interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

ObituaryJul 11, 2016  OBITUARY: FAIRFIELD – Arnold Maurice Royea, age 89, husband of Hilda (Brown) Royea, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility.

Arnold was born February 27, 1927 in Richford the son of the late Carl A. & Myrtle M. (Little) Royea.

Arnold was raised in Richford and was a 1945 graduate of Richford High School. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer residing in Fairfield most of his adult life. He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and the VFW Charles DePrato Post #778 of Swanton.
Arnold was a devoted family man. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Red Sox, Patriots & Bruins. He also loved the outdoors and hunting and especially looked forward to deer season.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Royea of Fairfield. Arnold & Hilda were married on September 30, 1949. He is also survived by his children, Shirley Babcock and her husband Danny of St. Albans, Judy Morey of Highgate, Debby Chatfield and her husband Richard of Highgate Springs, Arnold Royea and his wife Judy of Sheldon, and Michael Royea of Swanton; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren; his brother, Gerald “Gig” Royea and his wife Joyce of East Enosburgh; sisters-in-law, Muriel “May” Darbyson of Stanbridge Est, Quebec, and Rose Royea of Champlain, NY; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Eric, Ralph & Louis Royea; and his sister, Madeline King.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Jon Bly officiating. Interment will take place privately in the North Fairfield Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home.

Jones and Lyn Ragland of Richmond. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late August Henry Euler and Mercer Fentress Euler. After graduation from Craddock High School, she was employed by Seaboard Air Line Railroad (now CSX Transportation) in Portsmouth. She relocated to Richmond with the railroad in 1958, where she worked until retirement. She also worked part time in the Accounting Department of Thalhimer's. Emily was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Richmond, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the American Business Women's Association. She enjoyed participating in the Seaboard company bowling league. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue, Richmond. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church.

He was born Christmas Day 1932 in Sunbury, N.C. He was always the star on the top of the tree with a heart as wide as the branches. Ralph was a graduate of North Carolina State majoring in mechanical engineering. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years. During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Ribbon. He retired from Naval Weapons Station where he worked as a mechanical engineer for 34 years. As a hobby, he enjoyed photo digital imagery and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also attended functions of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was an active member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Ica Rountree; and his brothers, Thurman Jr. and Harry Lee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jeannette W. Rountree; his son, James Douglas Rountree of Mechanicsville, Va; his daughter, Sharon Kay Wolf and her husband Troy of Newport News; his brother, Robert Rountree and wife Hazel of Burlington, N.C; and his sister, Evelyn Lassiter of Sunbury.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Walnut Hills Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory in Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph's honor may be made to Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
