She was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Northfield, the daughter of the late Norman and Marie Anne (Fortin) Messier. She was a resident of Bakersfield for the past 43 years and was a former resident of Northfield. She was a member of St. George's/St. Anthony's Catholic Church in East Fairfield, and a former member of St. John's Catholic Church in Northfield. She was also a member of the Fairfield/Bakersfield Senior Meal Site Program. She was the beloved mother of five children: Laura Gervais and her husband, Bruce, of St. Albans; Lucille Bouchard and her fiancé, Jerry Regan, of New Athens, Ill; Teresa Bouchard, of Bakersfield, Marcel Bouchard and his wife, Martina, of Walthourville, Ga., and Rita Salls and her husband, Victor, of St. Albans. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Arthur Messier of Plainsville, Conn., Leo Messier of Barre, Arlene Roux and her husband Robert of Websterville, Fla./Williamstown, and Albert Messier and his wife Normande of Northfield; five grandchildren, Kerry and Corey Salls, Patrick Routhier, and Bianca and Henry Bouchard; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolland H. Bouchard; and a grandson, Victor Anthony Salls. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 at St. Anthony's/St. George's Catholic Church in East Fairfield with Rev. Joseph Sullivan celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. George's Cemetery in Bakersfield. Visiting hours will be held today, Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. Phyllis was born in Berkshire on December 13,1923 to Albert and Frances Cassidy. She married her sweetheart Hubert Messier (Steve) on June 28, 1944. Together they made a beautiful marriage of 65 years. She worked for A. Brown for numerous years as a bookkeeper. Then worked at the Howard Bank and also delivered meals on wheels to the elderly. She enjoyed meeting the people in her line of work. She also enjoyed the Bridge club, camping and spending time with her family. Phyllis leaves behind her loving children, Eric and his wife Jeannette of Berkshire, Duane and his wife Karla of East Fairfield. Also, 5 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Step-Great Grandchildren. A brother Wendell Cassidy and his wife, Barbara, sisters-in-law Natalie Guilmette, Bernolene Roddy, Also, brother-in-law Rollo Barry of Morrisville, several nieces and Nephews. She will be fondly remembered and truly missed by her family and friends. At Phyllis’ request there will be no public calling hours or service. There will be a private service at the grave site. Hubert and daughter Debra prepared Phyllis a new home with them in eternity. They are now together forever. He was born September 7, 1929 in Richford the son of the late Olin W. & Dorothy (Combs) Fletcher. Dub was a resident of Richford most of his life. He was employed at H. K. Webster (Blue Seal Feeds) for over 40 years and was also employed as a janitor during same time at the Franklin Lamoille Bank in Richford. He was a U. S. Army veteran during the Korean War, being honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 12 of Richford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work and spending time at his camp on Lake Carmi. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Grandshaw) Fletcher of Richford; his son Paul Fletcher and his wife Louise of Richford; his grandson, Chief Petty Officer Joel Fletcher his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Elissa Ann Terry all of Jacksonville, FL; his granddaughter, Elyssa Fletcher and her companion Eli Gubuzda of Montgomery; his sister, Lucille Robtoy of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Wilma Garrow. There will be no funeral services or visiting hours held at this time. She loved knitting and her favorite time of year was Christmas. She is survived by her son Paul Fletcher and his wife Louise of Richford; grandson, Joel Fletcher and his wife Elizabeth of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Elyssa Lazarski and her husband Matt of St. Albans; great-granddaughter, Elissa Terry of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Alan Grandshaw and his wife Deborah of Enosburg Falls, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Betty was predeceased by her husband Wendell R. Fletcher; sister, Elsie Juaire; and nephew, Richard Juaire. Jewett - Messier, age 91, passed away Wednesday morning November 19, 2008 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls with her loving family at her side. She was born August 2, 1917 in Montgomery the daughter of the late Charles & Betty (Lumbra) Foote. Beulah grew up in Montgomery (West Hill). She married Floyd Jewett on October 15, 1932, he passed away in 1978. Beulah worked for many years in Connecticut as a machine operator at Alpine Electronics and retired in 1980 at which point she moved back to Vermont. She then married J. Watson Messier in 1981 and he passed away in 1985. Beulah & Watson enjoyed many happy years at their home. She truly enjoyed all of her grandchildren and their families. She was young at heart and always welcomed anyone into her home where you had to have coffee or tea and something to eat. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Floyd F. Jewett Jr. and Rochelle of Naugatuck, CT, Bertha “Sis” Reed and Norton, Arbutus “Babe” Reed and Morton all of Enosburg, and Diane Chaplin and Clarence of Shelburne; her step children and their spouses, Shirley Clark of Enosburg, Freda Barry and Donald of Belvidere, Larry Messier and Joyce, and Reginald Messier and Junith all of Enosburg; 30 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother Raymond Foote and his friend Elaine of Wolcott; a son-in-law, Marty Jones of Amenia, NY; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, Beulah was predeceased by children, Doris, Ronald, Cedric “Ted” & Darlene; siblings, Harold, Herbert, Carlton, and Donald Foote, Evelyn Jewett, and Annabelle Britch. Homer was born on July 20, 1942 in Johnson, VT, the son of Benjamin and Albena (LaRoche) Corey. Homer farmed for most of his life and had also been employed at Benjamin’s Sawmill and McDermott Trucking. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and, especially, country music and playing his guitar and recording music. His favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees. Surviving are Homer’s wife Arlene (Sorrell) Corey of Richford; his children, JoAnn and Isadore Bouchard of Enosburg and Melissa and John Delisle of Richford; step-children Laurie Ann VanAlstine of Newaygo, MI, William and Judy Dubois of Middleville, MI, Don and Dorothy Chalender of Charlotte, MI and Richard and Lisa Hunter, Jr. of Howard City, MI; his brothers David Merriam of Wolcott and John Merriam of Morrisville; sisters Betty Bacon of St. Augustine, FL, Betty Parrot of Fairhaven; 18 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Homer was predeceased by his brothers William Corey, George Corey, Benjamin Corey, Harrison Corey and Merrill Corey; and half sisters, Mabel V. Bushey, and Alice Wine. | Obituary | Nov 7, 2007 | OBITUARY: RICHFORD – Madeline G. Salisbury, age 84, passed away Tuesday November 6, 2007 at Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington following a lengthy illness. She was born August 24, 1923 in Sanford, Maine the daughter of the late Herman & Marion (Gagne) Durenleau. She was a resident of Richford most of her life and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She was employed at Northland Hockey Stick Factory in Richford for 14 years retiring in 1960. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 12 of Richford. She enjoyed writing letters and cards, taking pictures and listening to country music. She also loved Norma Jeans dog, Dallas She is survived by her daughter, Norma Jean Tatro of Richford; her grandchildren, Daniel Tatro and his partner Mark Tatro – Lavigne of Underhill, Donna Tatro of Richford, and Diane Tatro and her friend John Jacobs of Richford; her great grandson, Trevor Sheltra of Richford; her siblings, Margaret Paquette of East Richford, Robert Durenleau and his wife Joyce of Richford, and Daniel Durenleau and his wife Doris of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Guy Salisbury Jr; a grandson, Dennis Tatro; son-in-law, Wayne “Peanut” Tatro; brothers, Rene, Donat & Norman Durenleau; and sister, Yvette Durenleau. Funeral services will be held Friday November 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. | Obituary | Dec 11, 2016 | OBITUARY: SALISBURY, CT. - Arnold Frederic Lattrell went to be with the Lord on December 10th, 2016, At age 98.He died peacefully in his sleep at Noble Horizons Nursing Home in Salisbury, CT with his daughter Jean and his son Fred by his side. Arnold was born on November 11th, 1918 in New Haven, VT. He married Dolores Provencher in 1942. He then served honorably in the US Army from 1942 to 1945. He served in the European Theater in World War II. After serving in World War II he came home and owned and operated a dairy farm in Addison, VT. He later worked many years for NYS Division for youth. He retired from his position there in 1980. Arnold was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was truly an exceptional baseball pitcher. He was an avid Red Sox's fan. He loved most outdoor activities and excelled in any sport he participated in. His wife of 64 years, Dolores predeceased him in 2001 as did his son, Donald, in 2016 and four grandchildren, Donald Jr. and Mark Lattrell, Eric Lattrell & Teresa Lattrell Horton. He is survived by six sons, Louis and his wife Cindy of Perry, GA, Frederic and his wife Tia of Amenia, NY, William and his wife Carrie of Amenia, NY, Gary and his wife Ellen of Pawling, NY, John and significant other Joan of Massena, NY, James and his wife Barbara of Sharon, CT, three daughters Joan MacDonald of Cleveland, TN, Jean Meyer of Millbrook, NY and Janette Lattrell of Vergennes, VT and daughter-in-law Barbara Lattrell of Kingston, NY. Other survivors include his brother Robert, Buster, Lattrell and his wife Norene of Vergennes, VT, and several nieces and nephews. Arnold is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Arnold was very gifted with his hands and his intellect. He could do nearly anything he set his mind to and he would eagerly help anyone who needed him. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. In his retirement Arnold very much enjoyed working in his garden and tending to his horses, traveling to Florida and spending time with his friend Shirley LaBerge and the local seniors group. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Vergennes Seniors Club, Attn. Liz Lowry, 62 High Manor Park, Waltham, VT 05491. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 15th at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes.
