| Obituary | May 13, 2008 | OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS – Joyce (Billado) Howard, age 53, passed away Monday May 12, 2008 after a brave and courageous battle with a brain tumor, lung cancer and adrenal gland cancer at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans with her loving family at her side. Joyce never complained about her illness and was determined to beat her illness. She was born in St. Albans on October 20, 1954, the daughter of Velma (LaFrance) Billado and the late Robert Billado Sr. Joyce was most recently employed at Paradise Pools & Spas in St. Albans. She had to retire due to poor health. She was previously employed as a manager at the Crossroads in Waterbury for many years and Enosburg Mobil as manager for 8 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 12 in Richford. Joyce was a caring, gentle, kind hearted person and always put others before herself. She put her fears and concerns aside, being more concerned with her mother-in-law’s illness as they were both battling cancer. That was the type of person Joyce was. She loved her cats especially her favorite, “Tom Tom”. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, lawn sales, gambling trips to Atlantic City, and take outs with her Mom. She is survived by her husband and soul mate, John Howard of Enosburg Falls. They were married October 27, 2006 after re-meeting at the wedding of John’s sister Donna (Howard) & Glenn Deming on August 19, 2006. She is also survived by her mother, Velma Billado of Richford; her son, Raymond McCuen and his fiancé Jen Griffen of Barre; her daughter, Traci Murray of Bakersfield; her grandchildren, Emmi Clark, David Murray, and Raymond McCuen Jr., Brandon & Josh Connelly; her brothers, Robert Billado Jr. of Richford, Jeffrey Billado and his fiancé Amy Laroche of Enosburg Falls, and Ricky Billado of Richford; her sisters, Carolyn Cooper and her husband John of Enosburg Falls, Connie Barton and her husband William of Goldsboro, NC, Susan Rice of Marietta, GA, Ruth Ann Cooper and her husband Frederick Sr. of Franklin, Doreen Corey and her husband Ernest of Franklin, and Tammy Gendron and her husband James of Richford; her brother-in-law, Arnold Lagro of Franklin; her sisters-in-law, Connie McEnany and her husband David of Sheldon, Lisa Howard and her partner Roger Robitaille of Enosburg, and Donna Deming and her husband Glenn of Enosburg; and brother-in-law, Ronald Howard and his partner Linda O’Connell of Montgomery Center; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Billado Sr; grandson, Casey; sister, Diana Lagrow; nephew, John Cooper Jr., and mother-in-law, Dorothy Howard. Funeral services will be held Friday morning May 16, 2008 at 11:00 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg Falls. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls. He was born June 30, 1961, in St. Albans, Vermont, to the late Robert William Billado Sr. and Velma Irene (LaFrance) Billado. He grew up on Bismark Street in Enosburg Falls. When he finished school, he immediately entered the workforce where he held jobs with F.E. Hart Fence Company, A.C. Hawthorne Roofing, and A. Brown Auto and Home Store. He served in the US Army and the Vermont Army National Guard as well and, at one point, owned and operated Billado Auto Repair and Towing. Most recently, he was employed at Century International Arms, Inc. in Fairfax/Georgia, Vermont. He married Carrie Alene Cole on May 25th, 2019. Ricky loved spending time with family and friends, and he loved to have fun. When not working, he could be found hunting or fishing with his children and grandchildren, four-wheeling with friends, puttering around in his small engine shop, or playing music with his buddies. He and Carrie loved to go camping, and they loved to ride his motorcycle too. He was proud of his Native American heritage, and he was proud to be an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife Carrie of Richford; his children, Angela Cooper and her husband Jason of Enosburg, Shawn Billado and his wife Helen of Trion, Georgia, and Colby Garrow and Rebecca Garrow of Richford; his grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Meghan, and Riley Donna, and Skyler, Bentley, and Mia Cooper; siblings, Carolyn Cooper and her husband John of Enosburg, Connie Barton and her husband William of Goldsboro, NC, Robert Billado Jr. of Enosburg, Susan Rice of Cedartown, Georgia, Ruthanne Cooper and her husband Frederick of Franklin, Doreen Corey and her husband Ernest of Franklin, Jeffery Billado Sr. of Bakersfield, and Tammy LaPan and her husband Todd of Richford; and several nieces and nephews. | Obituary | Feb 5, 2008 | OBITUARY: MONTGOMERY CENTER – Dorothy Loretta (Young) Howard – Ma passed away this morning, February 3, 2008, with her loved ones by her bedside. This past August we found out she had cancer. We all cried together, but Ma would say, none of that. We brought her back and forth to the Doctors but we could see she was getting tired. She wanted to be home, we told her that we were in this together and over the past 10 days we moved in camping out all over the house practically tripping over each other. We tried to comfort her, constantly by her side, holding her hand and watching her sleep. Her pain and suffering is finally over. Ma had a big heart, strong will, great sense of humor, and was fun to be around. She liked to watch and feed the birds in the winter, putter around her flower gardens in the summer, crochet, watch her “Stories” as she would call them. She wrote in her diary daily for the past 20 years. She was an excellent cook. She was also a little night hawk staying up late listening to her scanner, watching Jerry Springer, Sci-Fi while dusting off her 303 British and sipping Diet Coke. She loved to go to lawn and rummage sales; she would tear through them like Grant went through Richmond so we could get to the next one. Hello! Ma was born in Swanton, VT on April 26, 1930 the daughter of the late Howard & Edith (Garrett) Young. She married our Dad, John Wilbur Howard Sr. on December 31, 1951. They made their home and raised their family on the Regan Rd. in Montgomery Center where Ma stilled called it “up on the hill”. They eventually moved down on Mill Hill where she has been for over forty years. Ma leaves behind her children and their families, Connie McEnany and her husband David of Sheldon, Lisa Howard and her partner Roger Robitaille of Enosburg, Donna Deming and her husband Glenn of Enosburg, John Howard Jr. and his wife Joyce of Enosburg, and Ronald Howard and his partner Linda O’Connell of Montgomery Center; Ma’s companion Carlton Barnes who she would give a hard time once in awhile to keep him in line, as she would say. But loved dearly; her cat, Emma; her sister, Marjorie Hemmingway of St. Albans; her brothers, George “Pete” Young and his wife Margaret of Enosburg, and James Young of Tarpon, FL; her grandchildren and their families, Shawn McEnany his wife Melinda and their children Aylssa, Brendon, Eric McEnany his wife Michelle and their son Dylan, Kalin McEnany, Meagan (McEnany) Clark and her husband Berkley all of Sheldon, Roger Howard and his son Tyson of Enosburg, Mark Howard and partner Kerry Bouchard and his children Amelia & Nathan of Enosburg, Bobbie Joe Howard her fiancé Dennis Gebhardt and their children, Jaden Howard, Adelina & Emmett Gebhardt of St. Albans, Alisha Tringle of St. Albans, and Josh Howard of Franklin. She also leaves behind special friends, Mike Sartwell, Matt Goodsell, Lenny Langlois, Donna D from D&D Deli. Ma was predeceased by our father, John Wilbur Howard Sr. on September 5, 1979. Ma, you will forever be in our thoughts, always close to our hearts. Remembering all the good times, we love and miss you now and forever. | Obituary | Jul 15, 2006 | OBITUARY: FRANKLIN - Eleanor M. Corey, age 79, passed away Friday morning, July 14, 2006 at the Haven Health Care Facility in St. Albans. She was born June 23, 1927 in Keene, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Stone) Oliver. Eleanor was a resident of Franklin most of her life. She had worked in her early years at a canning factory in St. Albans. Most of her adult life she took pride in being a homemaker and caring for her family. She also enjoyed watching soap operas. She is survived by her children, Ernest Corey and his wife Doreen of Franklin, and Joyce Christian and her husband Ron of Montgomery; her grandchildren, William Corey and his fianc'e Renee Kane, Michelle Linsley and her husband Rich, Linda Sochia and her husband James, Laura Machia and her husband Michael, Lisa Larose, and Amanda Larose and her fianc'e John Wagner; her great-grandchildren, Destiny Larose, Michael, Jade and Christina Linsley, Haley Corey, Seth and Tyler Sochia, and Matthew Machia; a sister, Barbara Loiselle of St. Albans; two brothers, Robert Oliver and his wife Yoko of Wichita, Kansas, and Rolland Oliver and his wife Norma of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William Corey; and two brothers, Charles and Bertram Oliver. Funeral services will be held Monday July 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
