ObituaryDec 11, 2024  OBITUARY: New Britain - Robert "Bob" Theodore Stiles Jr. was born November 18, 1970, in Berlin, Vermont. He was unexpectedly lost on November 20, 2024. Bob spent most of his life in the Middlebury area. At the time of his death, Bob lived in New Britain, Connecticut.

Bob was a talented, skilled, and creative artisan in the electrical field. He spent his adult life working as an electrician doing both residential and commercial work. Bob was a genuine, caring, thoughtful and generous man who was extremely hardworking.

Bob loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going for rides on his motorcycle. He took joy in spending time with his children, watching them play football and soccer, or going to the park with them.

Bob will be missed dearly, remembered and loved forever. Bob is survived by his son, Xavier Stiles; his stepson, Kaden; and their mother Abigail Jamfi, sisters Claire Wilber, husband Mark; Barbara Garrow; Janet Danyow and her partner Brian Litchfield and stepfather Larry Danyow. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Robert Stiles Sr. and Donna Lee Danyow.

Visiting hours will be held at Sanderson Funeral home in Middlebury on Thursday, Dec 12 from 4 to 6pm. Send online condolences at www.sandersonfuneralservice.com. A burial and celebration of Bob's life is planned for late spring 2025.2

Ada was born on May 21, 1925 to Wilson D. and Doris (Palmer) Smalley. Upon graduating from Waldoboro High School in 1942, she was employed as a telephone operator at New England Tel Co. in Waldoboro until the conversion to the dial system. She retired in 1985 after 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Clyde S. Campbell and her only son, Donald Clyde Campbell in 2011.

She is survived by daughter-in-law, Robyn R. Campbell; and granddaughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Renee Campbell.

There will be a graveside service on Sunday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Seiders Cemetery, 2754 Friendship Rd. in Waldoboro for both Clyde and Ada Campbell. (Lincoln County News 5/21/2019.)2

ObituaryAug 6, 1982  OBITUARY: Raymond Douglas McPhee died at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, NH on August 4, 1982 following a short illness. He was born on May 13, 1916 in Georgetown, MA; the son of James Vincent and Adrianna Percy (Ridley) McPhee.

He had resided in Claremont nearly all his life. He graduated from Stevens High School in 1934. He worked as a machinist at Joy Mfg Co until he retired in 1972 after twenty eight years of service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No 1201, and the Polish American Citizens Club.

He married Gertrude Anna Hentschel on November 28, 1935 in Hartford, VT but they divorced.

He married Dorothy Cora (O'Connell) Schlemmer on August 12, 1946 in Claremont but they later divorced.

He married Elizabeth (Pitkin) Webster about 1975.

He was preceded in death by son Robert.

Surviving is his wife of Claremont, NH; three sons Arthur G McPhee of Cape Coral, FL, Allan R McPhee of North Augusta, SC, and Ronald E McPhee of St John, New Brunswick, Canada; daughter Barbara J McPhee of St John, New Brunswick, Canada; five grandchildren; and two sisters Constance Warner of Burnt Hills, NY and Virginia Wanstall of Bethel, VT.

Burial is in Mtn View cemetery.

ObituaryJul 11, 2006  OBITUARY: Raymond P. LaBree, 85, of Lyndonville, died Monday morning, July 10, 2006, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

He was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Walden, Vt., son of the late Henry L. and Lena M. (O'Hearn) LaBree.

Ray attended school in Danville and then worked for C.H. Davis at Danville Manufacturing and later at his sawmill at Miles Pond. In 1942 Ray entered the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II in Europe, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. After returning home, he again worked for his former employer.

In 1946, he began a career at Vermont Tap & Die Co. in Lyndonville (on Main St., and later on Pudding Hill, also owned by C.H. Davis) as a machinist, where he worked until his retirement in 1983. After retirement, Ray worked part-time for Vermont American (formerly Vermont Tap & Die Co.) at their sugar place on Darling Hill producing maple syrup each spring.

An active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Ray was an usher for more than 40 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 10038 in Lyndonville, and a member of the Tom Breslin Center in Lyndonville.

He enjoyed spending time with his family at their camp in South Wheelock, maple sugaring, fishing, traveling around northern New England, and sharing coffee hour with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marguerite M. (Patoine) LaBree of Lyndonville; a son and his wife, Robert and Susan LaBree of Lyndon; a daughter and her husband, Doris and Bernard Boulay of Lyndon; six grandchildren, Scott Boulay and his wife Susan of Tennessee, Melissa Hall and her husband Stacy of East Burke, Laura Leonard and her husband Jerry of Lyndon, Kelley LaBree of South Wheelock, Erin LaBree of North Carolina, and Eric LaBree of West Danville; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Leonard; his sister, Edna Goyette of St. Johnsbury; his mother-in-law, Rosa Patoine of Hardwick; 14 brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Paul, in January 2006.

Friends may call on the family Wednesday evening, July 12, from 6-8, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday morning, July 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lyndonville, with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Foreman celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Lyndonville.
