She was born October 4, 1939 in Highgate the daughter of the late Raymond & Lucille (Durkee) Machia.

Pauline attended schools in New York and Highgate. She loved playing cards and belonged to a cribbage group and two 500 groups. Pauline was a great cook and was famous for her wonderful desserts which she brought to all the family reunions. She was also an accomplished painter and crafter. She was a feisty woman with a quick tongue and a huge heart. She was always there to help someone. Plagued by illness throughout her lifetime, she was not a complainer and found happiness in the littlest things, like an afternoon of tea with friends, Joan Pariseau and Marie Raymond. She loved being with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Pauline was a very strong lady and much loved, she will be missed more than words can say.

Pauline was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she devoted her time and talents on the annual Christmas Bazaar.

Pauline leaves her children, Randy Minckler and his wife Jenni of Murfreesboro, TN, Steven Minckler and his wife JoAnne of Sheldon, Brian Minckler and his fiancé Sandi Budziak of Sheldon, Anne Paradee and her husband Mark of Fairfield, Brenda Godin and her husband Pierre of Enosburg Falls; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; her brothers & sisters, Rodney Machia, Larry Machia and his wife Alice, and Patsy Conder and her husband Dan; her sisters-in-law, Betty Machia, Audrey Jewett & Marie Raymond; the father of her children, Wilfred Minckler and his wife Rita; and her good friend, Mary Larivee; several nieces, nephews & cousins; and her faithful companion, Koa. Besides her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her brother, Robert "Bobby" Machia; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Machia & Theresa Stanhope; brothers-in-law, Doug Farrar, Spencer Stanhope & Laurel Kittell.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 62 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held later this spring in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

He was born in Sheldon on August 21, 1937 to the late Wilfred and Lucille (Messier) Minckler.

Sonny attended Enosburg Falls High School and in his early years worked for St. J & L C Railroad. He worked for Sheldon Pulp Mill for 42 years and was a member of The Masons and Shriners. Sonny was a lover of life and all it had to offer, always ready for a party. Loved good food which he enjoyed at many family outings. There was hardly a gathering where he did not recite his favorite song of “Elmer Jones and the bear” which always brought much applause and laughter. Sonny was the “only boy” in the family and was teased by his sisters for being his parent’s pride and joy. He made many fishing trips to Lake Ontario with his wife Rita and son Steven and Joanne. Sonny loved fishing and hunting and many years ago there was a write-up in the paper that he was the 2nd person in Vermont to bag a turkey with a bow and arrow. He will be deeply missed, and his family believes there was a big celebration of family and friends welcoming him home.

Besides his parents and in-laws Sonny was predeceased by the mother of his children, Pauline (Machia) Minckler; sister, Theresa Stanhope; brothers-in-law, Douglas Farrar, Laurel Kittel, Spencer Stanhope, Roger Dragon, and Allison Stanley.

Sonny leaves his wife of 26 years, Rita (Dragon) Minkler; children, Randy Minckler and his wife Jenni, Anne Paradee and her husband Mark, Brenda Godin and her husband Pierre, Steven Minckler and his wife Joanne, and Brian Minckler and his wife Sandy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Jewett, and Marie Raymond and her husband Ralph; Rita’s children, Richard Hoburn and his wife Debbie, Anne “Snooky” Mason and her husband Rick; sisters-in-law, Rose Longe and her husband Ronnie, and Theresa Stanley; brother-in-law, Raymond Dragon and his wife Laurie; many nieces and nephews; his beloved companion, Brutus; and good friends and fishing buddy, Ronnie Johnson and his wife Joanne.

Sonny’s family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses Bridget and Soni of Bayada for the exceptional care Sonny received.

Family and friends are invited to Sonny’s Life Celebration events to include a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 117 Shawville Rd., Sheldon Springs, Vermont 05485. ObituaryMar 23, 2015  OBITUARY: ENOSBURGH - On Sunday, March 22, 2015, Roger Jacobs Sr. lost his long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and its complications, He left this earth peacefully in his home in the arms of his loving wife.

Roger was born in East Berkshire, VT on January 24, 1939 to the late Jessie (Hogaboom) and George Jacobs Sr. Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his siblings, George Jacobs Jr. and Arlene Peters.

Roger married the love of his life, Shirley Guilmette, on July 2, 1960. They Celebrated 54 years of marriage. They were blessed with two precious children, Pamela and Roger Jr. who survive him along with their spouses, Alan Marshall and Louise (Longley) Jacobs and their children, Colby and Danielle Marshall and Jason, Kelsey and Ashley Jacobs; and one great grandson, Bentley. From the time he held out his hands to touch those of his children, his heart belonged to them and he was totally involved in providing them with the best possible lives. He is also survived by one brother, Stephen and his spouse Judy and their family and one sister, Lora Jacobs and her family; his mother-in-law, Thelma Gross; sisters-in-law, Joanne O'Brien, Marshia Regnier., Gloria Afanasiew, Colleen Mason and Jolyn Farradaz and their families, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Roger's outstanding work ethic was instilled at a young age when he learned to operate heavy equipment in his father's logging operations and assisted in the production of maple syrup. He later became a 30 plus year employee of Rock-Tenn, retiring in 1993 due to health reasons. He showed great inner strength, courage and dignity throughout his illness and was carried through with his faith and the love and compassion of his family.

Roger was a member of the Vermont National Guard, Company B, 1st Battalion of the 172nd Armored Division in Enosburg Falls and the American Legion Post #12 of Richford.

The hobbies Roger most enjoyed were fishing and hunting. He took great pride in growing vegetables that he generously shared with family and friends and working with and restoring old tractors, however he was best known for his gentle heart, kind ways and unique sense of humor. He was truly the best father, husband, grandfather, son, sibling and friend anyone could ever have. He will remain always in our minds and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Roger's life will begin with visitation at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls and continue with a service by Fr. Roger Charbonneau at 2:00 PM.

She is survived by her brother and sister, Gary Chadwick and his wife Patricia and Marsha Demar and her husband Larry all of Sheldon; nieces & nephews, Josie Gregoire and her husband Patrick of Enosburg, JoAnn Chadwick of St. Albans, Jeremy Demar and his wife Erica of Canton, GA and Jenny Hemond and her husband Jamie of Clear Water, FL; great nieces & nephews, Kody Gregoire, Christopher and Hayley Mulheron and Alexis Demar; her faithful companion, Squeaker and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brenda was predeceased by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Fr. Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Sheldon Springs.

Joe entered the United States Army in 1942 serving during WWII until receiving his honorable discharge 1945. He then married Kathryn Longe on September 1, 1951. He held jobs as a trucker and a foundry worker before opening Duludes Sunoco in Enosburg Falls which he operated for 17 years. He then did carpentry work, retiring in 1996. He also enjoyed wood working and bowling.

Joe was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls and the DAV.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Dulude of Enosburg Falls; his brother, Clement Dulude and his wife Annette of East Hartford, CT; several nieces and nephews and their families including, Kelli (Kennison) Howard. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, Girard "Jerry", and Marcel Dulude; his sisters, Cecile Larose, Marie Dulude, Theresa Dulude Raymond, and Jeannine Dulude Johnston.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi Street, Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.

She was born June 11, 1936 in Bakersfield the daughter of the late Elmer & Rosie (Whitehead) Taylor.

Shirley grew up in Bakersfield and attended Brigham Academy. She married Richard Longe on May 27, 1953 and together they raised their family and worked three different dairy farms in the area with the one on Route 105 in Sheldon being her favorite. She loved to work in her flower gardens, play cards, sit on the porch, listen to music and go dancing with Richard. Family was very important to Shirley and she cherished family gatherings especially during the holidays when her family was together. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and not only devoted her life to help Richard on the farm. She devoted her life also to care for her son, Michael.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Women of the Moose Chapter # 321 of St. Albans and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #798 of St. Albans.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Longe of Sheldon; her children, Dennis Longe of Sheldon, Joanne Longe and her companion Wayne Gregoire of West Enosburgh, Charles Longe and his wife Laurie of Sheldon, Laurie Tremblay and her husband Joseph "Jay" of Berkshire, Nancy Larivee and her husband John of Franklin, and Michael Longe of Sheldon; her grandchildren, Jessica Goss and her husband Josh, Matthew Gregoire, Nicole Gregoire, Rhanna Walsh and her husband Nick, Chuckie Longe and his fiancée Kelly Hart, Rebecca Longe and her finace Cody Johnston, Cassandra Longe, Chloe Longe, Katie Tremblay and her friend Damian Longley, Stacie Tremblay and her friend Dan Sartwell, Travis Tremblay, Justin Tremblay, Jamie Larivee, Amanda Ovitt and her husband Jordan, and Cody Larivee and his friend Mikayla Blake; her great grandchildren, Kaden & Reagan Goss, Camden Gregoire, Addyson, Aiden & Lilly Longe, Henry Sartwell, Eden Longley, Jeremiah & Jacob Ovitt, and soon to be born, Benjamin Walsh; her sister, Lila Patch of Enosburg Falls; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Longe on January 31, 1976; her grandson, Timothy Larivee on March 11, 2012; her siblings on her father's side, Elmer Taylor, Leland Taylor, Sylvia Tillotson, Gretchen Cocoran, Althema Lawyer & Evelyn Taylor; and her siblings on her mother's side, Sylvia Thompson & Lawrence Ranney.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.

He was born in Bakersfield on February 2, 1925, the son of the late Elmer and Bertha (Longey) Longe.

Richard worked on several farms throughout his life before purchasing his own in 1971 on VT Route 105 in Sheldon. After he retired, he continued to help the boys with field work until he was 92. Richard married the love of his life, Shirley (Taylor) Longe, on May 27, 1953. The two were inseparable and enjoyed doing everything side-by-side including traveling to country festivals, playing cards, sitting on the front porch, and completing work around the farm. Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge in St. Albans and enjoyed many good meals, and nights square dancing with Shirley. He loved visits with his family and friends, especially large gatherings for special occasions. Richard will be remembered for his strong and dedicated work ethic and his deep love for his wife.

He spent nearly 50 years working there before retirement. His hobbies included stamp collecting and vacationing to Maine. He especially enjoyed his annual trip to Bar Harbor with Florence.

He leaves behind his significant other of more than 20 years, Florence Mikan of Sheldon and her children, Jeffery and Steven Lamos, Shari Gamache and Jason Mikan and their families; his chosen children, Scott Choinere of Franklin and Jodi Dexter of St. Albans and their families; his siblings, Gail Benjamin of St. Albans, Lynda & Ron Taplin of Newburgh, ME and David & Deborah Boocock of Richford and several nieces & nephews and close friends. John was predeceased by his parents.

In keeping with John's wishes there will be no public services. His family and friends will have a reception in his honor at a later date.

Mary was born at home in Montgomery Ctr. on November 29, 1925. She was the 5th of 7 children born to Harry & Mary (Demar) Elkins.


Mom always knew she wanted to be a school teacher. She was proud of her alma mater, Johnson Normal School and she also attended Montgomery Elementary & Junior High and Enosburg Falls High School. She fell in love with Arthur Soule at a dance at the Opera House. Her mother asked her to wait to marry until she had worked as a teacher for a year. So, on June 7, 1947, the day after the school year ended, they married at St. Isidore's. They were married for 64 years when Dad died in 2011. Mom was a very devoted member of her church. She taught many First Communion classes and was a member of St. Theresa's and St. Anne's society.

She was known for her attention to detail, beautiful penmanship and lovely singing voice. Mom taught remedial reading for grades 1-4 at the Montgomery Village school and 1st grade at Montgomery Elementary. She was also involved with the Montgomery Free Library and Montgomery Center Home Dem. Mom lavishly welcomed visitors into her home and had a generous heart.

She is survived by two devoted daughters and their husbands, Susan Carol and Lee Tillotson of Bakersfield and Nancy Ann and Bill Riggie of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren, Leif Tillotson and his son, Andrew of Montgomery Ctr., Courtney and Sara Tillotson and their children Jarrett & Avery of Richford, Jeremy Tillotson and his daughter, Ruby of Berkshire and Lauren and Ren Chase and her children, Isabelle & Jack Hammond of Richmond; two sisters, Eleanor Delaire of Burlington and Evelyn and Arnold Barron of Valley Springs, CA and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her granddaughters, Andrea & Jessica Riggie; brothers, Clayton, William & Charles Elkins and a sister, Marion Lumbra.

She also leaves behind the staff and residents at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, who have become family, and we want to thank them for the loving and respectful care given to Mom over the past several years.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 4:00 PM at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Rd., Montgomery Ctr. with Fr. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will follow in St. Isidore's Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held at St. Isidore's parish hall from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service.

He was born May 17, 1920 in Sheldon the son of the late Andrew J. & Teresa (Riley) Soule. Art grew up in Sheldon, attended Sheldon Elementary School and was a 1938 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in the South Pacific Theater with the 341st Ordinance Depot Company during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked at the Ruberoid Company / GAF / Vermont Asbestos Group Mine in Lowell for 31 years, most of that time in the Quality Control Lab. Art was a founding member of the Montgomery Fire Dept., long-time Fire Commissioner for the Town of Montgomery, Treasurer of Calvary Episcopal Church in East Berkshire, Senior Warden of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Enosburg Falls and a member of the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls. Art enjoyed being around people, especially children, playing cards with his family and walking to the store and post office each day until his 88th birthday. He was a “Big Kid” to his last day, picking on people, always trying to get a laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Soule, who resides at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford; 2 daughters and their husbands, Sue & Lee Tillotson of Bakersfield and Nancy & Bill Riggie of Pensacola, FL; his grandchildren, Leif & Amy Tillotson and their son Andrew of St. Albans, Courtney and Sara Tillotson and their sons Jarrett & Avery of Richford, Jeremy Tillotson of Berkshire and his daughter Ruby and her mother Emily Garceau of Montgomery Ctr., Lauren Hammond, her fiancé Ren Chase and her children, Isabelle & Jack of South Burlington; 2 sisters-in-law, Evelyn and her husband Joe Barron of Valley Springs, CA and Eleanor Delaire of Burlington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born September 26, 1921 in Enosburg Falls the son of the late Roland & Alice (Phillips) Messier. Steve started his working career on a farm in Berkshire and in 1951 he went to work for Olson Construction Co. building bridges and then worked for Bailey’s in Enosburg Falls until the mid 1960’s when he went to drive truck for McDermott’s Transportation in Enosburg Falls retiring in 1984. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, bowling and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Messier of Enosburg Falls. They were married June 28, 1944. He is also survived by 2 sons and their wives, Eric & Jeannette Messier of Berkshire, and Duane & Karla Messier of East Fairfield; 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Natalie Guilmette of Enosburg Falls, and Bernolene Roddy of Belleview, FL; 2 brothers-in-law, Rollo Barry of Morrisville, and Wendell Cassidy and his wife Barbara of Enosburg Falls; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Steve was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Messier; a brother, J. Wesley Messier; and a sister, Audrey Barry. A memorial service will be held Friday March 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Bly officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Berkshire Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Pops was a farmer most of his life; he worked for Carroll and Darlene Wright for 33 years and enjoyed every minute of it. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, especially Austin and Gavin Arbuckle.

He leaves behind many loved ones including his fiancé Angel Arbuckle; step-children, Joey and Stewart Arbuckle all of Enosburg; his children, Robert Thompson and his wife Tonya of Berkshire, Lori Lagro and her husband David of Montgomery, Randy Thompson and his fiancé Mary Bray of Richford and Staci Thompson and her fiancé Ronald Brown of Hyde Park; grandchildren, Jessica, Randy Jr., Sam, Nicole, Courtney, Sarah, Kyle and Amber Thompson and Kimberly and Richard Delisle; step-grandchildren, Leshia Elkins, Ken & Davey Lagro; great grandchildren, Austin & Gavin Arbuckle; special friends, Timmy Clark, Shane Larochelle, Judy Greenwood and Tony Humphrey; siblings, Norman Thompson and his wife Linda Berkshire and Patricia Parker of Plattsburgh, NY; several nieces & nephews. He was born November 19, 1927 in East Highgate to the late Charles R. & Stella Daisy (Laplant) Sartwell.

Miles went to grammar school in East Highgate and then went to work for Rixford's Ax Factory. He then enlisted in the U.S. ARMY and served during the Korean War, earning his honorable discharge in 1951. That same year he married Phyllis J. Bocash. Miles worked for a short time at Clarence Brown's after the military, but the majority of his working career was spent with the railroad company. On the weekends Miles and his family could be found at the homes of Charles Sartwell and Clarence Bocash.

His hobbies included bowling, fishing, golfing, woodworking, auto mechanics and tinkering on small projects. Miles was an avid NASCAR fan, he especially liked Danica Patrick, his baseball team was the Boston Red Sox and he enjoyed animals, particularly his chickens and birds. Miles loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he will be missed by all of them.

He is survived by his children, Diana Sartwell and David Dunton of Highgate, Dennis Sartwell and his wife Diane of Franklin and Terry Brace and his wife Cathy of Highgate; his grandchildren, Mary Westcom and her husband Brian, Diane Chevalier and her husband Eric, Amy Rollo and her husband Jason, David, Nathan and Matt Sartwell-Cornell, Dustin Sartwell, Dee Greenia and her husband Matthew, Donna Benoit and her husband Jamie, Debbie Berger and her husband Robert and Kylie and Corey Brace; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Jason Sartwell and his wife Claretta and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Miles was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Sartwell a stillborn child, baby Sartwell and his siblings, Thomas, Charles, Alfred and Velma Sartwell, Gertrude Menard, Hazel Bosley, Suzie Bocash and Mary Brace.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Kerry Cameron officiating. Interment will follow in the Highgate Center Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7-9:00 PM.

She is survived by her children, Penny Pedersen and her husband Jan of Fayetteville, NC, Dale Tipper and his wife Tawnya of Lexington, SC, Patricia Tipper and Duane Tipper and his wife Deanna all of Highgate; several grandchildren & great grandchildren; her siblings, James Tipper and his wife Debbie of Berkshire, Robert Tipper and his wife Rita of Enosburg, Carol Paquette and Diane Paquette both of Sheldon and several nieces & nephews. She was born on May 6, 1923, at the Johnson home in Berkshire, to the late Willard & Eva (Lahue) Johnson. Marjorie was proud of the fact that she lived in the home her father built.

Marjorie attended the Berkshire Center Elementary School and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School class of 1942. After high school she worked on her brother, Cortes' farm, milking cows and haying, she also worked as a waitress at the Ideal Restaurant in Enosburg. In 1943 she went to Leominster, MA to live with her sister, Bernice Carter, and worked for Foster Grant. She returned home in 1944 and began working for Missisquoi Corp, the Sheldon paper mill, until 1950. Marjorie married Leon Stowe on April 25, 1948 and together they ran their trucking company Stowe & Sons, Inc.

She was the town clerk and treasurer for the town of Berkshire from 1960 until 1975. Marjorie and Leon became members of the Berkshire 2nd Congregational Church on December 19, 1948; she served the church as moderator, clerk, trustee, janitor and treasurer throughout the years. She was a former member of 4H, Vermont Grange and National Grange, former president and treasurer of the Dorcas Society, former secretary and treasurer of the Berkshire Historical Society and acted as treasurer for the Berkshire Center Cemetery Association since 1983. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling to Health Seekers meetings and bible study.

She is survived by her children, Larry Stowe and his wife Diane of Berkshire Ctr., Bonnie Stowe of East Berkshire and her significant other, Dennis Demar of Franklin, David Stowe and his wife Patricia of Enosburg Falls and Joyce Dodd and her husband Eric of Berkshire Ctr; 9 grandchildren, Neil, Jeffrey, Holly, Hannah, Hilary, Anna-Maria, Amber, Autumn & Barry; 9 great grandchildren, Justin, Jarron, Jordon, Michael, Maverick, Alexis, Sierra, Jenessa & Bryella; siblings, Kenneth Johnson and his wife Marilyn of Franklin and Charlotte Hammond of North Berkshire and her significant other, Wendell "Bing" Gilbert of Bakersfield and several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Berkshire 2nd Congregational Church, Water Tower Rd., Berkshire Center with Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will be held later this spring in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

ObituaryJun 22, 2009  OBITUARY: BERKSHIRE CENTER - Leon Earl Stowe, age 83, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, June 19, 2009, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born on the Stowe Family Farm in North Berkshire on June 24, 1925, the son of the late Percy and Marion (Perry) Stowe.

Growing up in North Berkshire, his father passed away when Leon was 10, at which point he started working on several area dairy farms. He purchased his first ton truck, a Ford, on Oct. 15, 1949, hauling canned milk to the creamery in Enosburg Falls and then in 1960 changed to hauling bulk milk to area creameries. He had been the President of Stowe and Sons Trucking, Inc. for 59 years. During this time he also hauled ice from Lake Carmi, bottled gas for A. Brown steel for Mo Aber, pea vine, hay, sawdust, logs, pulp wood, fire wood, wood chips, Christmas trees, bagged coal, for many farmers, loggers and business's in the area and pet food for Blue Seal. Leon and Marjorie hauled produce up and down the east coast. He was fond of his Ford and International Trucks but loved to drive his last truck the most, a red and white Kenworth.

Leon was a member of the Berkshire Center 2nd Congregational Church and was the church's custodian for over 50 years. He also attended the East Franklin Union Church for the past several years.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Johnson) Stowe, of Berkshire Center. Leon and Marjorie were married on April 25, 1948. He is also survived by his children, Larry Stowe and his wife, Diane, of Berkshire Center, Bonnie Stowe of East Berkshire, David Stowe and his wife, Patricia, of Enosburg Falls, and Joyce Dodd and her husband, Eric, of Berkshire Center; nine grandchildren: Neil, Jeffrey, Holly, Hannah, Hilary, Anna-Maria, Amber, Autumn and Barry; eight great-grandchildren: Justin, Jarron, Jordon, Michael, Maverick, Alexis, Sierra and Jenessa; two brothers, Wayne Stowe of Penacook, N.H., and Luther Stowe and his wife, Theresa, of Winooski; three sisters: Lucille Derby of Rockville, Conn., Bethel Baranik of Sheldon Springs, and Lorraine Neville of Edgewater, Fla; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leon was predeceased by two brothers, Russell Stowe and Merriman "Sonny" Sheltra.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Berkshire Center 2nd Congregational Church with Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in the Berkshire Center Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

Arnold was a lifelong resident of Montgomery & Berkshire. His working career started on the Archie Domina farm in Montgomery and then went to Jay Peak to clear trails for the ski resort. He then worked for the State of Vermont Highway Dept. for many years retiring in 1990. While working with the State, Arnold ran his farm in East Berkshire where he loved to raise pigs and take care of his property. Arnold loved family gatherings and playing cards.

He is survived by his niece, Linda Clark of Berkshire; his nephews and their wives, Archie & Rose Anne Domina of Sheldon and Donald & Penny Domina of Johnson; a niece-in-law, Pauline Domia of Berkshire; many great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Adeline & Archie Domina; his nephew, Gary Domina; and great nephews, Kristopher Domina, Barry Rice & Brandon Rainville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 878 Horseshoe Road, East Berkshire with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will be held later this spring in the Montgomery Center Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.

She was born June 10, 1918 in Mansonville, Que the daughter of the late Andrew and Laura (Prive) Cabana.

Irene grew up in Fairfield and Enosburg. She married to Joseph Lamarche, December 13, 1932. She was a resident of Enosburg for many years. She wallpapered and painted until the age of 80 in many homes in Franklin County.

She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ladies of St. Anne Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, Fletcher Grange, Camel's Hump, Pomona and National Grange for over 50 years.

She enjoyed playing cribbage (Monday cribbage league at the American Legion) and bowling for over 40 years (Dairy Center Northern League) and Bingo were many of her activities. She crocheted and did a lot of canvas items giving them to everyone who visited her.

Irene is survived by her three children, Marie Brouillette of Sheldon, Lawrence Lamarche, Saratoga Springs, NY and Clement (Mona) Lamarche from Tavares, Florida.

10 grandchildren, David Brouillette (Jerri) of Sheldon, Teresa Stebbins of Georgia, Mary Brouillette of St. Albans, Mark Brouillette (Wendy) of Montgomery and Andrew Brouillette (Susan) of Sheldon Michelle Marresse (Micheal) of NY, Micheal Lamarche of Florida, Paul Lamarche, Robert Lamarche and Kelly-Jo Lamarche all of Saratoga Springs, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450 with Father Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Enosburg Falls. A Reception will be held after the committal at St. Anthony's Parish Hall, Shawville Rd, Sheldon Springs, VT 05485.
