He was born on Feb. 7, 1921, in Wilmington, son of Alonzo F. Crosier and Lila V (Upton) Crosier. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School. Ernie was a caretaker, poultry farmer, and custodian for Green Street and Academy schools. He attended Dummerston Congregational Church and was a member of Halifax Union Society. Ernie enjoyed going to the Ogunquit and Wells, Maine, area, and staying at the Towne Lyne Motel. He enjoyed trips to the Amish country, Gettysburg, Pa., and visiting friends in Florida. Come summer, you often found Ernie at his favorite eatery, Bert's Chuck Wagon in Putney, with Bert and a truck driver named Toby becoming special friends to him. Another special person was Rhonda, who worked at Dunkin Donuts. Ernie enjoyed the Greenfield and Wilmington fairs, tag sales and baseball. Additionally, he enjoyed watching the wildlife at his home, at his neighbors, and Pete's water garden. Ernie rarely missed watching the Lawrence Welk show and his favorite comedy, Keeping Up Appearances. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Crosier of Halifax, a brother, Bernard Crosier of North Springfield, a sister, Betty Adams of Wilmington, and a sister, Shirley Crosier of Brattleboro. He was predeceased by his wife, Mensje V. Crosier, whom he married on Aug. 15, 1947, in Halifax; his parents; and three sisters, Bernice Crosier, Doris Longtin, and Marion Watson. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Dummerston Congregational Church, with Pastor Susanna Griefen officiating. Burial will be at Christ Church Cemetery in Guilford, VT. She was born on Oct. 30, 1944, in St. Albans, the daughter of Norman H. and Phylllis A. (Pattee) Shepard.

She was a graduate of Fanny Allen Hospital School of Practical Nursing and worked at the Bishop DeGoesbriand Memorial Hospital.

She was later employed with the Burlington Savings Bank and the Key Bank before her employment at Carlson Wagonlit Travel Service.

She married Richard LaPlant on Aug. 29, 1964 in Burlington, Vermont and is survived by two children.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Shepard.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Avenue, Burlington.

Interment will follow in New Mount Calvary Cemetery, Plattsburgh Avenue, Burlington.
