ObituaryApr 29, 2006  OBITUARY: ST. ALBANS - Mr. George E. Rocheleau, age 87, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 21, 1919, in St. Albans, son of the late Onile "Louis" and Adeline (Nichols) Rocheleau.
He married Harriet Mulheron, Feb. 16, 1941. Mrs. Rocheleau pre deceased him in 2002.
George worked for the Central Vermont Railway for 38 years retiring in 1979 as a conductor. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1090, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary unit 758. He will be best remembered for his French Fry Wagon he operated on Kingman Street and the concession stand at the ball parks. He loved working with his construction business, socializing with his community, and playing games with the family friends. He loved cards, croquet, shuffleboard and pool. He was always anxious for anyone to come over so he could tease them when he won.
Dad had a vast knowledge about a variety of things and was always there to help out with his children's questions...right or wrong. He will be missed by all and especially by the morning coffee crew. It was always so comforting to gather around the kitchen table with the "Don" of the family.
George's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Christian Thomas and his staff, and Franklin County Home Health, for their care and support.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: John and Anna Rocheleau of Swanton, Linda and Hank Gadouas of St. Albans, Steven and Janice Rocheleau of Fairfax, Thomas and Linda Rocheleau of St. Albans; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Rocheleau and his wife, Trudy of St. Albans; sisters: Corita Cadieux and her husband, Roger of Georgia, Corrine Rocheleau and Rita Sweeney and her husband, Wayne, all of St. Albans. Besides his wife Harriet, he was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Hortense Levesque, Cecile Deslauriers, and Yvonne Vock; and brothers, Omer and Alfred Rocheleau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be in the Rocheleau family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. An online condolence book has been established for his family at the Brady & Levesque Web site: www.bnlfh.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

ObituaryAug 1, 2011  OBITUARY: BARRE CITY - Gloria Z. Sawyer, 85, of Maple Grove Street, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, surrounded by her family.
Born in Barre City on May 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Celia (Habbep) Ziter.
Gloria attended St. Monica Catholic School in Barre and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1944. She continued her education at the Bishop-DeGoesbriand Hospital in Burlington, where she completed her nurses training. Gloria then was employed at the Barre City Hospital before going to the Palm Beach Air Force Base Hospital in Florida, where she met her husband to-be, Gary "Buz" Sawyer. They were married on Feb. 2, 1957, in the Palm Beach Air Force Chapel. After her marriage, Gloria worked at the Mount Holly Regional Hospital in New Jersey. The couple later moved to Barre where she worked at the Rowan Court Nursing Home in Barre. Gloria did a lot of various volunteer work, including working at the free health clinic at the McFarland House and Red Cross blood drives in Barre. She was very involved in the Barre Ethnic Festival and the annual Lebanese Dinners. She also helped organized "The Blouza" reunion along with her sister, Marie Keaton. She was also very active in organizing her class reunions. Gloria loved to cook, especially Lebanese food, she always had an open door with a pot of coffee and food on the stove for family and friends. She loved to take care of people and was very fond of her family. She was a giver, not a taker. She had an unlimited supply of love and care for her family and friends also looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her Lebanese friends. Her memberships include, St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre and the American Legion, Post # 10 of Barre and the Lebanese Language Club.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years of marriage, Gary Sawyer of Barre; son, Stephen Sawyer and his wife, Maggi Shadroui, of Vergennes; brother, Thomas Ziter and his wife, Carole, of Essex; sister, Marie Ziter Keaton and her husband, Dr. William Keaton, of Berlin; a very special grandson, Jesse Sawyer of Vergennes; as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the United States that she was a second mother to.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son, Gary Patrick Sawyer, in infancy; daughter, Mary Pat Sawyer; and brother, Dr. Fred Ziter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.

ObituaryJan 20, 2018  OBITUARY: Joyce A. Dutton, 79, of Newport, Vermont passed away suddenly on January 16, 2018 in Newport. She was born on July 19, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Alvin and Velma (Herman) Cook. She married Robert Dutton on January 25, 1958 and they were married for 31 years before he pre-deceased her on December 11, 1989. On October 4, 2008 she married Fernand Tanguay who survives her. Joyce graduated from O’Brien’s School of Cosmetology in 1991, an accomplishment she was very proud to achieve after the passing of her husband Robert. Joyce had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the Albany Methodist Church and Bible study group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies, enjoyed gardening, being in the outdoors and going on hikes. Joyce will be dearly missed by her family whom she loved so much. She is survived by her husband Fernand Tanguay of Newport, VT, by her children: Gail Poutre and her husband Andre of Irasburg,VT, Rhonda Quirion and her husband Luc of Newport, VT, and Donald Dutton and his wife Susan of Newport, NH, by her grandchildren: Robbie Poutre and his partner Sasha, Andrea Poutre and Heather Poutre and her partner Kyle, Jennifer Davis and her husband Jeremy, Michael Quirion and his wife Moira, Julia and Alicia Dutton, by her great-grandchildren, Michaela Poginy, Christian Poutre, Alivia Poutre, Jeran Prue, Myra Lee Davis, Kailey Prue, Mitchell Davis, Gavin Quirion and another soon to arrive, 3 step grandchildren: Reanna Simpson, Alan Tanguay, and Megen Perkins, by her siblings: Richard Cook and his wife June of Rutland, VT, Ronald Cook and his wife Lea of Irasburg, VT, David Cook and his wife Laurie of Irasburg,VT, Donna Langdeau of Essex Junction, VT, Sandy Hodgson and her husband Jim of South Hero, VT, Jean Gosselin and her husband Robert of FL, and by her step children: Mike Tanguay and his fiancé Deb Cogan of Newport, VT, and Anita Perkins and her husband Tim of Williston, VT.
