ObituaryAug 28, 2004  OBITUARY: Richford Herman E. "Tinker" Luman, 76, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 27, 2004, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born in St. Albans on Feb. 17, 1928, the son of the late Fred and Mary "Cameron" Luman. He was married to Lillian Dufresne, who survives him.

Tinker entered the Armed Forces in 1946 and proudly served his country through several conflicts. He was a distinguished Army veteran, serving in Korea and five tours in Vietnam. Tinker was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Robert E. Glidden Post # 758, and a member of the American Legion, Richford Post# 12. As a member of the American Legion, Tinker continued his service to the Armed Forces by holding the post of Service Officer, where he assisted other Veterans for numerous years. Outside of his dedicated service, he enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian, of Richford, three sons, Michael Luman and his wife, Kathy of St. Albans, Philip Luman of Swanton and John Luman of St. Albans, his sister, Lillian Robtoy of St. Albans, his brother, Raymond Luman and his wife, Helga, of Willingboro, N.J., two step-sons, Philip Bruley of Indiana, Pa. and Jeffrey Bruley of Bakersfield, four step-daughters, Valerie Kimball of Gainesville, Va., Marie Isom and her husband, Scott, of Aurora, Colo., Samantha Ovitt and her husband, Blaine, of Bakersfield, and Jessica Tatro and her husband, Robert, Jr., of Fairfield, seventeen grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Frank and Robert and his sister, Alice Gray.

In accordance with Tinkers wishes, private funeral services were held this morning in the Heald Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy, Rector of Holy Angels Parish officiating.

Interment followed in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

ObituaryJun 10, 2010  OBITUARY: Clyde "Bink" Mercier, Jr., age 71 years, a resident of 52 Liberty St. in Swanton Village died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 9, 2010, while mowing his lawn at home following a sudden heart attack.

Born in Chicago, IL on, April 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Clyde Sr. and Alice (Simard) Mercier.

He attended school in Swanton and graduated from the former St. Anne's Academy. He faithfully served his country for several years in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post #1 of St. Albans. He was later associated for approximately 40 years with Ayerst Laboratories of Rouses Point, NY. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Enosburgh Country Club. He physically worked out several times a week as a member of The Fitness Zone in St. Albans and will be remembered by many in the community for his early morning coffee time with friends at the Swanton McDonalds.

Clyde was a faithful parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and had volunteered for a time at the Swanton Community Food Shelf.

He leaves his three children, Bill Mercier of Highgate Springs, Vicky Mercier of Farmington, NH and Becky Hess and her husband Carl of Keeseville, NY; four grandchildren, Richard Parks III, David Hess, William Mercier Jr. and Evan Mercier; one sister, Lois Wilson of Burlington; an aunt, Eileen Mercier of Swanton and several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Alice Amilhat Parent of El Paso, TX.

Clyde was predeceased by a sister Susan Marie Amilhat on January 26, 2009.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St. Swanton. Fr. Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave. Swanton on Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

He was the son of Richard and Helen (Monty) Trudell. Michael worked for many years at Sweeney Hardware, and Mallets Bay Hardware stores, the United States Postal Service, and most recently for St. Albans Glass Company.

Michael is survived by his daughter Michelle Ogle and her husband Jerrald of Westford, his son Miles Trudell and his wife Dana, and their two children Madison and Cash of Farifax, his brothers Roger Trudell and his wife Suzette of Ootewah, TN, Garry Trudell and his wife Eileen, a sister Carolyn Mitchell all of East Fairfield.

He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Mount Holly, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Harris) Garrow.
He was a dairy farmer and a self-employed building contractor.
He was a life member of the Mount Holly Fire Department, the Cairo Shriners of Rutland, and Mount Moriah 96 of East Wallingford. He was also a member of the Vermont National Guard, Loyal Order of the Moose Club, and son of the American Legion.
He enjoyed camping and road trips.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Garrow-Woolley, Brenda Garrow and Lori Norton, all of Mount Holly; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a sister Charlotte Pikkarainen of Chippenhook; his companion Barbara West of Claremont, N.H; and five stepchildren, Susan, Elwin, Scott, Glen and Tim.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Janice M. (Fuller) Garrow.
Friends may call Friday, April 12, 2013, (today) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 13, at Packer Cemetery, beginning at the Mount Holly Fire Department at 11 a.m.

She was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Sheldon, the daughter of Harland and Beatrice (Brown) Garrow. She was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be a part of our lives forever, and the “Wind Beneath Our Wings.” She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Arthur Tatro of Burlington, who loved her dearly; her four children, Carol Langlais of Burlington, Mike and Celeste Langlais of Winooski, Cathy and her friend, Bill Billings of Winooski and Rick and Lori Langlais of Winooski; seven grandchildren, Sara, Jamie, Tyler, Mikayla, Derrick, Taylor and Michael Langlais; four sisters, Antoinette Dragon of Highgate Center, Shirley Brighty of Hudson, NY, Betty Wedge of Hudson, and Pauline Myott of Enosburg Falls; nieces and nephews; and her special friends Cora and Ronnie Holcomb and Ruth Miller. She was predeceased by her husband, Raoul Langlais; her parents; two sisters Leona Ellis and Barbara McClairen; and one brother, Paul Garrow.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, at the chapel of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 S. Union St., Burlington, with burial to follow in Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery in Colchester. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, Home Care Program, 1110 Prim Road, Suite 1, Colchester, VT 05446.
