He was the beloved husband of Carol Cantell Moorby; devoted father of Michael Moorby of Somerset, NJ, John Moorby of Schenectady, Alyson Przybylek of Clifton Park, Carol Ann Moorby of Ballston Lake and the late Robert J. Moorby II; father-in-law of Samantha Moorby of Schenectady and Donald Przybylek of Clifton Park; grandfather of Robert Paul Moorby of Ballston Lake; brother of Glenn Moorby of Port Henry, NY, Nancy Moorby and Betty Perry, both of Schenectady and Linda Lefevre of MA; step-brother of George Moorby of So. Burlington, VT, Ronnie Moorby of VT, Ralph Moorby of MA and Marion MacGowan of Bristol, VT. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. ObituaryApr 19, 2011  OBITUARY: BARRE TOWN - Joseph A. Tousignant, 86, of Cutler Corner Road, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Graniteville on Aug. 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Emile and Aldea (Hebert) Tousignant. Joseph attended Holy Ghost Convent in Graniteville. After his schooling he was employed at Rock of Ages Corp. for 26 years.

On Aug. 2, 1947, he married Denise Mercier in Ste. Anne de Belleview, Quebec.

After their marriage the couple made their home in Graniteville until 1951, when they moved to East Calais, where they owned and operated a farm for five years. They then moved to Websterville for a few years before moving to George Street in Barre. Their last residence was in Barre Town.

In his later years he was employed by Barre City in the water department until his retirement in 1987. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, refinishing furniture, bowling and spending precious time with his family.

His memberships include St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre and the Canadian Club.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years of marriage, Denise Tousignant, of Barre Town; one son, Robert "Bob" Tousignant and his wife, Jane, of Randolph; two daughters, Diane Hanna, of Barre Town, and Marlene Tousignant, of Georgia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Gilberte Betty Woodruff, of Barre Town, and Theresa Usle, of Barre, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandson, Corey Pecor; five sisters, Florence Graves, Marie Lefebvre, Marie Rose Loverin, Jeannette Finnie and Cecile Graves; and three brothers, Roland, Maurice and Paul Tousignant.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

A later burial will be in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Websterville.

Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641.

Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.

Maurice was a resident of the area most of his life and was a 1971 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He drove truck for McDermott’s for many years. He had also driven for Pike, Red Head, S.T. Griswold, He enjoyed music and for many years played bass guitar for many bands including, Conrad Samuels Band, and the Keegan Nolan Band. Through the years, Maurice played many benefits to help those in need. He also enjoyed the time spent on the farm with his special friend, Pete Soule. His many enjoyments included logging, truck driving, ice fishing with Lester Derry, and car racing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his companion, Debra Austin of West Berkshire; his children, Stacie Manchester of Sheldon, James Longley and his friend Deanna Royea of Berkshire, Derek Austin of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Emilie, Kailie, Taylor, Aliyah, Madison & Alivia; his father, Ralph Longley and his friend Olive White of Berkshire; his brother and his wife, Larry & Janet Longley of Berkshire; and his former wife, Cathy Longley of Sheldon. He was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn Longley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.

ObituaryAug 21, 2014  OBITUARY: BERKSHIRE - Ralph M. Longley, age 88, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with his loving family at his side.

He was born December 24, 1925 in Montgomery the son of the late Raymond & Mary (Mayhew) Longley.

Ralph had lived in Connecticut as a young man and worked at International Silver in Meriden, CT and a granite quarry in New London, CT. Ralph has been a resident of Berkshire since 1963. Upon moving back to Vermont, Ralph was a self-employed truck driver and had also worked at Franklin County Cheese retiring in 1990.

Ralph enjoyed doing mechanic work and tinkering in his shop as well as working in the woods. He also enjoyed traveling, listening to music, especially Country & Blue Grass. In his earlier years he played guitar in several area bands.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Olive White of Berkshire; his son, Larry Longley and his wife Janet of Berkshire; his daughter-in-law, Debra Austin of West Berkshire; 5 grandchildren, Stacie Manchester, James Longley, Derek Austin, Angela Annis and her husband Jason & Joanne Longley; his great grandchildren; Emilie, Kailie, Taylor, Aliyah, Madison, Alexis, Jonathan & Carter; Olive's children, Kevin White of Lowell; and Heidi Mayo her husband Steve and their daughter, Emily of Newport; his brothers, Richard Longley of Richford, Roger Longley and his wife Shirley of Swanton, and Robert Longley and his wife Anita of Vernon; his sisters, Theresa Ladue and her husband Norman of Florida & Phyllis Rivers of St. Albans; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his son, Maurice Longley; a brother, Leo Longley; and a sister, Cecile Sweetser.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.

She was born May 8, 1930, the daughter of John W. and Florence (Roussil) Harrison in Rutland, Vermont. She grew up in Rutland and attended Christ the King School and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1948.

She worked in the office of A. Tuttle Patterson after high school, before becoming a homemaker and mother.

She was married to Gordon S. Patterson on June 10, 1950 at Christ the King Church by Msgr. John M. Kennedy.

She was a former Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout den mother. Her favorite hobbies were ceramics, as well as sewing and knitting, especially for her daughter, grandchildren and many nieces. She also enjoyed bowling in her Thursday evening league at the Rutland Bowlerama.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by her daughter, Carol Patterson Schwenk of Rochester, VT and two sons, Thomas G. Patterson and his wife Emma of Hancock, VT and Marc G. Patterson of Granville, VT. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lt. Geoffrey G. Schwenk, USN and his wife Jessica of San Diego, CA, Katherine R. Schwenk of Lafayette, IN, and Forrest G. Patterson of Hancock, VT, as well as by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2003, and infant daughter, Mary in 1958 and son-in-law H. Reid Schwenk in 2004. She was also predeceased by all her siblings, John W. Harrison, Jr., Robert E. Harrison, James F. Harrison, Harold J. Harrison Sr., Patricia K. DiGangi and Carole A. Yakunovich.

A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday, May 3 at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Proctor.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Rutland or the Vermont Foodbank.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
