ObituaryDec 11, 2005  OBITUARY: Mrs. Olive Morton Legacy, 90, of Derby Line died peacefully December 10, 2005 in Newport. She was born June 23, 1915 in Quebec a daughter of Myron and Emma (Wilsey) Morse. In 1946 she married Elmo Legacy who predeceased her on December 12, 1991. Mrs. Legacy was a cook for the East Side Restaurant and the former Kelley’s Restaurant. She enjoyed knitting and making afgans for everyone and she also enjoyed living at Michaud Manor. She is survived by a son Irving Morton and his wife Anna of Livingston,Texas, by a step daughter Ivah Chaput and her husband Felix,Sr of Derby and their eight children, and by a step son Walter Legacy and his wife Lorraine of Florida and their six children. She is survived by two grandchildren Scott Morton and his wife Mary of Huntington, Maryland, and Michael Morton and his wife Audrey of Alberquerque, NM, seven great-grandchildren, 26 step great-grandchildren, and by 23 step great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters: Harold, Maurice, and Edwin Morse, Marcella Hornburger, Ellen McCauley, and Arlene Ingalls. Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Monday December 12, 2005 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport,(formerly Sias Ave) where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 13, 2005 with the Rev. Roger Fletcher officiating.

She married Edward Lumbra in July 1943.

She loved fishing, bingo, and traveling for many years.

She is survived by seven children: two sons, John Boudah and his wife, Stacia, and Norman Lumbra and his wife, Mary, of Connecticut; five daughters. Barbara Weed and her husband, Perley, of Vermont, Cathleen and her husband, Richard Williams Palmateer, of Florida, Joyce Morin and her husband, Gillis. of California, Janice Grenier and her companion, Wilfred (John) Bessette Jr., with whom she made her home for the past 15 years., and Bernice Coleman and her husband, Ronald, of Vermont; 39 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be today from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 S. Union St., Burlington. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in the spring, on Friday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. in the Shelburne Village Cemetery in Shelburne.

He lived in Claremont until he moved to Haverhill, MA in 1957. While in Claremont, he was employed for several years at the Pleasant Sweet Shop on Pleasant Street. He was a U S Army veteran of World War II, serving from May 22, 1942 to November 21, 1945, and a former member of the Claremont VFW.

While living in Haverhill, he was employed as a chef at Ronnie D's Restaurant in Bradford and Ralph's Restaurant in Ward Hill.

He is survived by his wife Christine (Reed) Schettino, daughter Linda Archambault of Haverhil and Corrinne Hasbany of Methuen; stepson Michael Fitzpatrick of Berkeley, CA; two brothers Anthony of Haverhill and Ralph of Deland, FL; four sisters Nancy Green, Rose Demijohn, Marion Gavill and Madeline Pelletier all of Claremont.
