She was the beloved wife for 51 years of Kurt W. Train. Born in 1944 in Oak Park, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Mattie (Walker) Kenyon.

She was the loving mother of Kenneth W. Train of Franklin, Tennessee, Kristine D. Costello and her husband, John, of Bellingham, Massachusetts, and Kevin M. Train and his wife, Ariane, of Franklin, Tennessee. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Carrington, Zachary and Tanner. She was the sister of Arthur Kenyon of Cornish, the late Randall Kenyon of Cornish and the late Beverly Rockwood of Chelsea, Vermont.

She was a 1961 graduate of Stevens High School in Claremont and a 1963 graduate of the Pierce College for Women in Concord, New Hampshire with an associate’s degree in accounting.

She spent much of her life in Cornish, where she met her future husband of 51 years, Kurt. She and Kurt lived 22 years in Plaistow, New Hampshire, where they raised three wonderful children, Kenneth, Kristine and Kevin.

Kathy worked many years in the book publishing business, where she took special pleasure in returning many old, out of print books back to life and into like-new publications.

Kathy was an avid reader, a talented seamstress and an accomplished quilt maker who loved designing and sewing quilts of love for members of her family.

Kathy loved working in her flower gardens where she displayed an enviable green thumb. She also had a special way with African violets and proudly shared the beauty of her collection with her friends, family and visitors. She also loved to bake and her cinnamon yeast rolls and coffee rings were family favorites during the holidays.

She was an avid high school sports fan and was often seen at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was never shy about voicing her opinions, and was lovingly called “Gram” by many. She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.

Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 28 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington.

Pallbearers are Joe Brown, Logan Brown, Karlie Brown, Tristina Smith, Garth Wood, Dustin Bonar and Brittney Wood. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Morrowville.

Yvonne was born on March 19, 1930 to Joseph and Alma (Messier) Pilon in Fairfield, Vermont. On March 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Clarence Smith at St. Albins, VT. Yvonne was an avid seamstress and ran an upholstery shop for many years. After her shop, she worked at Swingsters until retirement. She also loved to help quilt with the church group.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clarence on September 22, 2005; son, Lester on August 19, 2002; brothers, Arthur Francis Pilon, Edward Pilon, Emile Pilon, Henry Pilon and Arthur Pilon; and sister, Alma Juliar.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Smith, address unknown, Linda (Kenton) Brown, Clyde, Cindy Wood, Hugoton, Martha Smith, Washington; sister, Cecile (Jimmy) Minckler, Swanton, VT, Josephine Rocheleau, Spring, TX; brother, Joseph Paul (Winifred) Pilon, St. Albins, VT; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund is established and the family will designate later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.

ObituaryOct 6, 2010  OBITUARY: WINOOSKI - Robert J. Blondin Sr. (Bob) died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 following a long illness.

He was born in Burlington in 1923, the son of George and Alma (Cauchon) Blondin, and was a longtime Winooski resident.

He graduated from Winooski High School in 1941. During WWII, he served in the Navy as a gunner's mate from 1942 to 1945.

He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received while serving his country.

Bob spent 10 years as an auto mechanic before joining IBM in 1957. His career at IBM spanned 35 years. He was a life member of the VFW John Ryan Post 1767. Bob attended St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski. He was a sports enthusiast, playing and officiating in many sports. He was also an avid fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, and sunsets at his camp on Lake Champlain.

Bob is survived by the mother of his children, Jane Horton; three sons, Bob Jr. and his wife Claudette, of Chagrin Falls, OH, John and his wife, Betty, of Colchester, and Dan of Burlington. He was predeceased by his son, Tom in 2001. He also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bob also leaves his long time companion and best friend, Pauline (Polly) Lee of Milton; and her children, Steven of Glouchester, Mass., Ron and wife, Laurie, of Stafford, Va., and Valerie Lee-Hatch and husband, Paul, of Stillwater, Okla; along with 10 grandchildren who were very close. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski.

Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, with military honors accorded Mr. Blondin by the Vermont National Guard.
