Morse was active in the tool manufacturing business and was a member of the insurance brokerage firm of Hall, Morse & Company, of 100 William Street, New York. He was president and director of the American Swiss File Company of Elizabeth, and treasurer of the E.R. Reich-Heim Company, tool makers, of New York.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs Emma Johnson Morse; a brother, R. P. Morse of South Manchester, Conn; and a sister, Mrs. John Alexander Bettes, of Montclair.

Rosanna was born on April 10, 1917, in Swanton, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Bohannon) Hoague.

On June 1, 1939, she married Leon O. Wescott and together lived in the Islands for over 49 years. Rosanna and Leon were known for their annual garage sales on U.S. 2 in Grand Isle.

Rosanna was a great cook and will always be remembered for her cookies and popcorn balls which she would make and send during the holidays. She loved her flowers and gardening, and was an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Wescott is survived by her children, Ralph Wescott of Essex, Laura Harris and her husband, Rodney, of Grand Isle, Mary Lopez and her husband, Rudy, of Benson, AZ, Leon Wescott Jr. and his wife, Emily of Colchester, and Virginia Vincent and her husband, Paul, of Grand Isle; sister-in-law, Virginia Wescott of Essex Center; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Wescott Sr. on March 11, 1993; and by her daughter, Lillian Louise Tourville in 1988.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in the South Hero Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

ObituaryApr 26, 2004  OBITUARY: SWANTON -- Joseph Arthur Hoague, 77, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.

Born in Swanton, July 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Almira (Pelkey) Hoague. He attended Swanton Schools and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged on June 1, 1947. He has been a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 of St. Albans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 778 of Swanton.

He is survived by a son, Peter Hoague of Florida; and a sister, Rosanna Wescott of Grand Isle; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his six brothers, George, Alfred, Napoleon, Fred, Arthur, and Nelson and four sisters, Edna Williams, Helen Van Guilder, Marion Corwell and Elizabeth Phillips.

Graveside Services and interment with full military honors will take place Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Hoague family lot in Riverside Cemetery. Father Donald Morris Rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton.
