She was preceded in death by her husband, Etheldred W. Pearson; an infant son, William M. Pearson; and by her second husband, Shirley D. Rountree.

Virginia had been an active member of Monument Heights Baptist Church, The Eastern Star Chapter 11, The Scottish Rite Woman's Club, the Christian Woman's Club and the National Federated Craft Chapter 60.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Jane W. Pearson; her granddaughters and their spouses, Mary-Stuart and Kevin Gremer, Katherine and MacGregor Gould; and a great-granddaughter, Jane Carlton Gremer.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 9 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Portsmouth, Va. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Eastern Star Home of Virginia, 3000 Chamberlayne Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.3
