Diane graduated from North Country Union High School in the class of 1969. During her lifetime she was employed by Indian Head Plywood, Newport Plastics, Vermont Teddy Bear, Pike Industries and was a Bar Tender for many local bars.

Among her hobbies, she enjoyed card making, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles. She held membership with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 798 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Brian Yates and his wife Christine of Williston, Vermont, Sharon Yates and her husband Robert Gaboriault of Notre Dame de Stanbridge, Quebec, Canada, Rebecca Jones and her husband Jospeh of Hammersville, OH, and Anthony Yates and his wife Elsie of Aumi, Norway. She is survived by her grandchildren: Ashley, Joshua, Jeremy, Melissa, Joseph, Spencer, Katie, Annabelle, Philip and Claire and by her great grandson Zack. She is also survived by her sister Dorene Cornell and her husband Amos of Newport, Vermont.

She was predeceased by her parents and by her brother Allan Young.

A private graveside service will be held in the Spring at Lake Road Cemetery in Newport Center, Vermont.
