Mr. Lockwood was a farmer for many years and also worked for the town of Granville. He retired in 1974.

His favorite pastimes were his workshop, his sawmill and going to the fair.

He had lived at Hallmark Nursing Centre since July 2001.

Survivors include a son, William Lockwood of Granville; two daughters, Shirley Waite of Pawlet, Vt., and Patricia Hughes of Queensbury; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; a brother, John Lockwood; four sisters, Cholie Ayres, Mable Chadwick, Hazel Ayres and Emma Lockwood; and by two grandsons.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Robert M. King Funeral Home with the Rev. Ashley Meade officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
