ObituaryDec 9, 2018  OBITUARY: Chauncey C. Kennison, Sr of Claremont, NH died December 7, 2018 at his home following a period of failing health. He was born in Hardwick, VT on August 6, 1927 the son of Clarence and Josephine (Williams) Kennison and had been a longtime Claremont resident.

Chauncey was a WWII Veteran having served with both the US Navy as a C-Bee for 4 years and the US Army Infantry for 6 years.

He had been employed as a pipefitter by Joy Mfg. Co. in Claremont and later worked at Cold Regions Research Laboratory in Hanover, NH as supervisor of contractors, most recently Goodwill. Chauncey was religious and prayed regularly. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing computer games, watching and feeding the birds. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan. He loved animals in general, especially his dog, Tabby who recently passed away.

Chauncey was very patriotic and was a member or American Legion Post #22 in Lebanon, NH and served as past commander of American Legion Post #29 in Claremont, NH.

Members of his family include his wife, Marilyn (Mongeau) Kennison, Claremont, NH; three sons, Christopher Kennison, Claremont, NH; Chauncey C. Kennison, Jr., Claremont, NH; Robert Kennison, three grandchildren, Damon Russell, GA; Chloe Kennison, Springfield, VT; Greyson Kennison, Boise, ID; a niece, Nancy DelMastro, Enfield, NH and many extended family members.

He was predeceased by four sons, Randy, Steven, David, Dennis, three brothers, Vernon, Wendell, Ernest and three sisters, Mildred Roberts, Cecile Pariseau, and Iona Bisson.

There will be no visiting hours.

Graveside services will be held a 12:00 pm on Thursday (Dec. 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a local SPCA or the charity of one’s choice. You are invited to share a memory of Chauncey with the family or leave a message of condolence in the family guest book at www.royfuneralhome.com.

Mary was a resident of Richford most of her life. She was a former member of the Richford Volunteer Ambulance Service. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and flowers. She also loved her bird, Bart.

She is survived by five sons, Fred Smith of Williston, Bernard Paquette and his wife, Lisa, Earl Paquette and his friend Melissa Paquette, Timothy Paquette, and Michael Paquette and his wife, Sharon, all of Richford; three daughters, Crystal Paquette of Richford, Kim Sartwell and her husband, Charles, of Highgate, Joanne Corwell and her husband, Brian, of Richford; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, David and Helen Bean of Georgia, and James and Carla Bean of Lindsborg, Kan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Reverend Frank Eksterwocz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at a later date in the Hill West Cemetery in Montgomery.

Friends and relatives may call on the family Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford.

Born in St. Albans, VT on April 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Leon R. and Doris (Young) Paquette. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Peggy (Russell) Paquette.

Leon was a proud parent of 5 children and loved his family and friends very much. He had a huge heart and was a father figure to many, always available to assist anyone in need of help. Leon had a passion for wood working, spending countless hours in his woodshop making different crafts. He loved the outdoors, horticulture and collecting all kinds of memorabilia. Leon served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam War from 1958-1961.

In addition to his parents, Leon is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Bernard, Raymond, Duyane, Morris, Wanda, Bernice, Elizabeth Paquette, Geraldine Messier, Patricia McAllister and grandson, Joshua Allen.

Survivors, including his loving wife Peggy of Corinth, are his sister Sandra Shover; children Julie Paquette (Tom) of Gansevoort, Danny (Micki) Paquette of Amsterdam, Kathy Paquette of Corinth, Carl Paquette (Nicole Girard) of Stillwater, Carol (Leo) Ethier of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren Chase, Marisa, Kassandra, Jesse, Sean, Kira, Chris (Kristen) and great grandchildren Scarlett, Violet, Natalie, Alana and Alan.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11am Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, (518-584-5373). All are asked to join the family to celebrate Leon’s life between the hours of 1:00pm-5:00pm at the American Legion, 34 West Ave, (518-587-0236).

ObituaryMar 25, 2011  OBITUARY: Vernon - Everett Leslie, "Mac" McAllister, 69, of Governor Hunt Road, a resident of Vernon for the past 39 years, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, March 24, 2011 in the emergency room at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Mr. McAllister was born in Richford, Vermont on November 21, 1941 the son of Leslie and Beatrice (Ryea) McAllister. He was raised and educated in Richford eventually moving to Brattleboro.

He had been employed at Cersosimo Lumber working as a forklift operator and had previously worked at Cersosimo as a logger and truck driver. His entire working career was with the company spanning a total of over 49 years of faithful and dedicated service.

Of his leisure time activities, he enjoyed hunting, playing softball in the greater Brattleboro Men's League, woodworking and time shared with his family. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

He was mechanically inclined and was known as an excellent mechanic.

On February 4, 1961 in Richford he was married to the love of his life and soul-mate Patricia Ann Paquette who survives.

Besides his faithful and devoted wife of 50 years he leaves, two sons, Michael McAllister and wife Susan of Raleigh, NC, and Jeffrey McAllister and wife Lori of Brattleboro, two daughters, Vicki Washburn and husband Craig of Putney and Angela McAllister Campbell and husband Mark of Brattleboro, three brothers, Garnold McAllister of Vernon, Morton McAllister of Brattleboro and Norman McAllister of Newport, VT, one sister, Marjorie Paquette of Brattleboro, five grandchildren, Sasha, Colby, Nicole, Miranda and Philip, and two great grandchildren, Damien and Paige.

Additionally he leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Maynard McAllister and a sister Virginia McAllister.

A memorial gathering in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Elks Home on Putney Road. A prayer service will be lead by Pastor Bruce Burks of Vernon Advent Christian Church.

Burial will take place at a later date in North Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Rescue Inc., P.O. Box 593 Brattleboro, VT 05302.

Mrs. Shover was born in Sutton. Que., May 2, 1908, the daughter of Luther B. and Ruth (Bickford) Sanborn.

She was a resident of Richford most of her life. For the past 12 years she made her home in Waterbury. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary 12 of Richford.

Mrs. Shover is survived by five sons, Gilbert, Roy, Alexander and John, all of Richford, and Donald Shover of Waterbury; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Shirley) Supernault of Tyngsboro, Mass., Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Foster of Dracut, Mass., Mrs. Kenneth (Emily) Deuso of Hinsdale, N.H.. and Mrs. Gerald (Gloria) Gagnon of Lowell; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Mattimore of Richford; 26 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the First Baptist Church in Richford with Rev. Richard Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford, Friday afternoon and evening, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Two Children Rescued By Norman Lariviere
Richford - - Norman Larivier, 14, rescued two children from drowning last Saturday afternoon about 6 o'clock. He was swimming in the neighborhood of North Branch bridge when he heard the cries of children and rushed to their aid.

Alexander "Butchie" age 7 and Gloria, age 6, children of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Shover, had fallen into the water and neither of them could swim. They had gone down for the third time when Lariviere dove in for them and came up with one under each arm. Butchie had swallowed lots of water, but Gloria was not affected. Both children are as well as ever now.

This incident came about when Gloria was playing on the bank of North Branch when she fell off a rotten log into six feet of water. Butchie went in after her. It was their struggles and screams for help which brought Norman Lariviere to their rescue.

She was born on August 9, 1913 in Highgate, VT a daughter of Charles E. and Cora (Longe) Minckler.
In 1935 she married George LeClair, Sr. who predeceased her in 1978.
Muriel was a past member of the Franklin Grange. Among her hobbies she liked fishing, sewing, spending time with her cat and her family. She had a green thumb and had many lovely plants. She leaves behind close staff members and residents at Maple Lane.

Muriel is survived by the following children; Helen Haile and her husband Nick of Newark, VT, Douglas of Newport Center, Teresa Fortin and her companion Thomas Dezotelle of Bakersfield, VT, Donna Prue and her husband Scott of Sutton, and Margaret Gilman of Derby, 37 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, two sisters Hilda St. Francis of Swanton and Evelyn Hope of Brookfield, MA, son in law Philip Gilman, Sr. of Newark, VT, two daughters in law Arlene LeClair of Richford and Joyce LeClair of Newport, she is predeceased by 4 sons; Richard Charles, Larry Gene, Frederick Allen, and George William Jr., three brothers; Stanley, Carl, and Ralph Minckler, and a sister Alice Minckler.

Friends may call from 12-2 PM on Friday March 20, 2009 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home on 4670 Darling Hill Rd. Newport. Funeral service will be held on Friday March 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Dallas St. Peter officiating. Spring interment will be held at the East Franklin Cemetery in East Franklin, VT on May 18 at 1:00 PM. Should friends desire contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society , VT Division Inc, 121 Connor Way Suite 240, Williston, VT 05495. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.curtis-britch-converse-rushford.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes, locally family owned and operated.
