ObituaryFeb 13, 1922  OBITUARY: ISAIAH F. SNOW passed away at his home in Dorchester, MA, on Dec. 29, 1921, after a few days’ illness of pneumonia.

He was born in West Brewster May 16, 1883, the son of the late Franklin W. and Elizabeth P. (Newcomb) Snow. When a young child, his parents moved to Boston where he was educated in the public schools, graduating from the English High School in 1900.

Soon after, he entered an office of the Philadelphia Face Brick Co., James & Abbott of Boston. Later o and until his death he was employed by the American Can Co., South Boston, where he steadily advanced to a position of responsibility and trust.

In 1913 he was married to Miss Margaret McClymont of Dorchester who, with two children, Margaret, seven years of age, and Franklin, three, survive him.

Besides his family, he leaves a mother to whom he has been an adviser and a comforter since the death of his father in 1910, two sisters, Mrs. Irving Stark of Brooklyn, NY, and Mrs. Alan Garrow of Brewster, an aged grandmother, Mrs. Jane A. Newcomb, and other relatives to all of whom great sympathy is extended.

Funeral services were held at his late residence New Year’s day, conducted by Rev. J. Williams of Phillips Church, South Boston, of which the deceased was a member, and by the Masonic Lodge, A.F. and A.M. He was laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Ashmont.

Researcher's Note* Capt. Ebenezer Newcomb resided in that part of Eastham which in 1763 was set off to form the town of Wellfleet. He was a mariner and about 1773 removed with his son David to Oxford, Mass., and in 1782 to Greenwich in the same state. In 1760 his son David was appointed guardian to his younger brothers and sisters, to take care of property which fell to them as heirs of their maternal grandfather, Ebenezer Freeman. On 8 Mar. 1742, Capt. Ebenezer Newcomb was chosen "hogereve" (hog catcher) and in 1749-50 he was elected "tyghingman" (peace officer) "March 21, 1750, Ebenezer" of Truro, "yeoman and wife thankful" sold land in Truro, pt or 8" lot in the last division. Capt. Newcomb was in the Old French War as a sailing master, 2 mar. 1747-8. The work on navigation which he used was preserved as a family relict for many years. He and his wife Experience joined church at Greenwich by letter from Wellfleet, 15 Jun 1782.2
