She was born on March 24, 1921, in Irasburg, VT, where she enjoyed long walks and skipping stones.

In her early twenties, she moved to Newport, VT and married Henry Champagne Jr. who predeceased her in 2002.

Mrs. Champagne was an original founding member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #798 Lady's Auxiliary.

She was such a talented and giving woman. She loved crocheting, sewing, square dancing and gardening. Her family is blessed with many hand-made items that will be passed on for generations. Even the sisters at Sacred Heart benefitted from her generosity, as she would bring them vegetables from her garden. She also worked at Slalom Ski Wear until she retired at age 65.

One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo. This love of bingo has been passed down to her great-granddaughters. Another passion of hers was photography. She captured every important moment of her great-grandchildren's lives for 18 years. These scrapbooks are a wonderful gift that will last forever.

Words cannot express the footprint she has left on the hearts of those who were lucky enough to be loved by her.

Her family misses her terribly but take comfort knowing that she is certainly square dancing with our Lord.

She is survived by her only daughter Christine LeBlanc; by her son-in-law Gaston "Sonny" LeBlanc Jr. formerly of North Troy; by her two grandchildren: Todd LeBlanc and his wife, Keli, and Kimberlee LeBlanc Fowler and her husband, Timothy; and by three great-grandchildren: Kathryn LeBlanc, Kelsea Fowler and Abbey LeBlanc.

Internment will be held on April 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Irasburg Cemetery. All who would like to attend are invited.

ObituaryApr 21, 2007  OBITUARY: Mrs. Ruby Eleanor Fecteau, 79, of Holland died peacefully April 20, 2007 in Holland with her family at her side.

She was born March 24, 1928 in Holland a daughter of George and Ethel (Shompany) Tice. She married Albert Fecteau who predeceased her on April 23, 1972. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Holland.

During her lifetime she cared for many foster children, and she enjoyed bird watching, reading, crossword puzzles and she especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by eight children: Dean Fecteau and his wife Gail of Coventry, Paul Fecteau and his wife Suzette of Holland, Carol Poutre and her husband Denis of Irasburg, Bonnie Bowen of Harvard,Mass; Randy Fecteau and his wife Barbara of Holland, Donna Quinn and her husband John of Norton, Larry Fecteau of Hartford, Tonia Fecteau of Milton, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and by the following brothers and sisters; Doris Swett of Holland, Robert Tice and his wife Joan of Derby, Earl Tice and his wife Penny of Holland, David Baraw of Massachusetts, a sisters-in-law: Anna Tice of Derby, Arlene Tice of Newport, Eleanor Fecteau of Alexander, Maine and Katherine Fecteau of Conn and by a brother-in-law Dick Fecteau of Richford and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers: Maurice and Herbert Tice and by a sister Gertrude Daggett.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday April 26, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Holland with the Rev. Don Gerber officiating. Interment will follow in Coventry Cemetery.
