Elaine is survived by her children, Beth Kirby of Vergennes, John P. Forand Jr. of New Baltimore, Mich., and Michael Forand of Moriah Center, N.Y; seven grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John P. Forand Sr; her second husband, Fred Moorby; and a daughter, Anne E. Gardner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at St. Peter's Church in Vergennes.

Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Vergennes, in the spring. Friends may call at BrownMcClay Funeral Home in Vergennes on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m.
