She had great faith and lived her life as such, she enjoyed having her friends and family stop by her house for visits.

She is survived by her children Daniel Roy and his wife Ruth of Newport Center, VT, Michael Roy of Newport, VT, Timothy Roy of Newport, VT, Tracey Roy of Maryland, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Richard Brien of Barre, VT, George Brien and his wife Gurtrude of Pennsylvania, sisters Judith Pallmarie of Missouri, Angela Bonin and her husband Garard of Coventry, VT Doris Bonin of Newport Center, VT as well as over 135 nieces and nephews. Also her good friend Gari Faverau of Newport, VT.

She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph Brien, Conrad Brien, and her sister Rose-Ann Labounty.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 10, 2019 at Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport, VT. Friends may call from1:00 pm until 2:00 P.M. with service to follow. Born in Newport on Feb. 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Armand and Lillian (Champigny) Brien. He attended the Sacred Heart School in Newport.

Maurice worked as a truck driver for Norton Brothers in Essex, retiring in 2002.

In his spare time he enjoyed working on trucks and automobiles.

He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church of Barre.

Survivors include three brothers and five sisters: Anita Roy of Newport, Joseph Brien of North Adams, Mass., George Brien of Winston Salem, N.C., Judith Pallermine of Highlandville, Mo., Angela Bonin of Newport Center, Roseanne LaBounty of Brandystone, Va; Richard Brien of Barre; and Doris Bonin of Billingham, Mass. He was predeceased by one brother, David Brien.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at 1 p.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery in Newport. Per his request, there will be no calling hours.

Mr. Brien was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1955 to 1957.

He was last employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 30 years until his retirement in 1995. Before that, he worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. Since his retirement, he worked at Price Chopper on State Rd. and Stop & Shop in North Adams.

Mr. Brien was a communicant of the former Incarnation Church. He was a member of the Eagles #310 in North Adams. He was a member of the Masons and the Cairo Shriners of Rutland, Vt. He enjoyed golfing, camping, and travel.

His wife, the former Carol J. Copeland, died on October 7, 2008. They were married on April 12, 1958.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Brien and James Brien of North Adams, and Jody Brien of Williamstown; one grandson, Joshua Brien; three great- grandchildren, Chelsea, Joshua, and Ashley; five sisters, Anita Roy, Judy Tallmerine, Angela Bonin, Rose Anne LaBounty, and Doris Bonin; two brothers, George Brien and Richard Brien; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was predeceased by a son, Kevin Brien, who died March 10, 1984; and two brothers, Conrad and David Brien.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Edmond Joseph Brien will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
