Landon was born March 14, 1938, in Bakersfield, VT.

He grew up on the family farm and is a graduate of Brigham Academy.

In May of 1959, Landon married Denise Martell of Enosburg Falls, VT. Together they had four children Anne, Kirk, Zane and Ross.

In 1988, Landon married Salley Mann. They raised two children, Summer and Josh. He served in the Vermont Army National Guard, drove cattle truck, lumberjacked, plowed snow and worked for IBM for 30 years before retiring in Tucson, AZ. Lanny called Colorado "home" for an extensive period of time and was a member of Cortez Elks Lodge #1789 for 20 years where he enjoyed volunteering at BINGO. Lanny was generous, kind, patient and hard working. Some of his favorite things to do were to play cribbage, watch the Arizona Wildcats and Westerns, and drive his truck cross-country. He will truly be missed.

Landon is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Lucille Graves; first wife, Denise; siblings Roger and Colleen; and son Zane. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Salley; sister, Virginia Olson (Fred DeWitt); children, Anne Doughty (Reggie), Kirk, Ross (Carol), Summer and Josh Mann; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held in Bakersfield, VT at United Church of Bakersfield July 2, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.

ObituaryOct 9, 2017  OBITUARY: Kenneth E. McDonald, 69 of Derby, Vermont passed away suddenly Friday, October 6, 2017 at his home. Kenneth was born on February 17, 1948, in Newport, VT to the late Christina Davidson and Merle McDonald. Kenneth spent his childhood years in Morgan, Vermont and his early years working for Rudy Burroughs in the woods, then with Real Desrochers driving truck. He worked thirty years for Vermont Agency of Transportation Division.

He is survived by his wife, Joan L. McDonald of thirty five years and his children, Dana Kennison of Derby, Kim Dupuis and her husband Raymond of Irasburg, Tracy Costa and her husband of Dave of Island Pond, also by his grandchildren Tina Royer and husband Derek of Newport Center, Michelle Aiken and husband James of Derby Line, Amanda Hastings, of Derby, David Hicks of Michigan, Shaun Hastings of Connecticut, and Eric Dupuis and wife Sarah of Irasburg and by his great-grandchildren, Kristopher Aiken, Jayden Aiken, Henry Bean, Landen Dupuis, Noah Dupuis, Harper Dupuis, Avery Royer, Bentley Cartee and Adalynn Jones. He is also survived by sister, Connie Carpenter of Derby, brother, Dean McDonald of Barton, brother- in-law, Gary Carter of Plainfield, VT.

He is predeceased by parents, brothers Reginald McDonald, Gordie McDonald, Larry McDonald and sister Shirley Carter. Ken is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport with services held by Pastor Robert Cargrill.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's Name to the Mary Wright Halo Foundation, Upper Quarry Road, Newport, VT or Derby Fish & Game, P.O. Box 187, Derby VT 05829.
