Williams, 86, widow of Ralph Williams, passed away Monday January 5, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington with her loving family at her side. She was born February 19, 1922 in Cambridge the daughter of the late Willis & Nora (Reynolds) Smith. Carolyn was a resident of Enosburg Falls and Hyde Park most of her life. In her later years she also resided at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford as well as St. Albans Health & Rehab. Carolyn devoted her life to being a homemaker and caring for her daughter, Carol. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and the West Enosburg Home Dem. She enjoyed reading and she will be remembered for her biscuits, donuts and sour cream pie. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Junith & Reginald Messier of Enosburg Falls, and Noreen & John Chase of Swanton; her grandchildren and their families, Terri Messier and her friend Kevin Condon; Cathy Messier her husband Brian Charron and their son Aiden; Dawn Tessier her husband Steven and their children, Cory, Cole & Cade; and Deana Chase her husband Tod Jones and their daughter, Sophie; her sisters, Eleanor Maynard of Cambridge, and Shirley Maynard and her husband Leon of Bakersfield; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Carolyn was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Williams; her great grandchild, Chloe Jones; and her sister, Marion Fortin – Murphy. Funeral services will be held Friday January 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in the West Enosburg Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls. ObituaryJun 4, 2013  OBITUARY: CAMBRIDGE - Eleanor N. (Smith) Maynard, born in East Fletcher, on Sept. 30, 1923, died on June 3, 2013, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She grew up in East Fletcher where she attended the one-room schoolhouse. She later graduated from Brigham Academy in Bakersfield in 1940. Shortly after that she moved to Cambridge, where she married Earl Kinney and had two children, Nancy and Jim.

Eleanor was a very caring, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She loved to sit on her front porch in the village and watch the birds. Her geraniums were her pride and joy and she would never miss a meal. Her body was always moving, including her hands that worked tirelessly to crochet and knit gifts for her friends and family. Her strength of independence allowed her to live a long life at the home she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; daughter, Nancy; and sisters, Carolyn Williams and Marion Murphy.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Maynard and extended family in Bakersfield; her son, Jim Kinney; grandchildren, Pam Fuller and husband, Michael, Carmen Fuller, Karen Tibbits and husband, Jason, and Kevin Kinney and partner, Beth Brown; great- grandchildren, Amanda Fuller, Heidi Fuller, Hayden and Ashton Tibbits, and Ella Kinney.

Calling hours will be at the A.W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Binghamville Church in Binghamville, followed by a committal and luncheon.

Marion enjoyed reading and in the spring of the year she looked forward to working in her gardens and being outdoors. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar Murphy of Berkshire; her children and their spouses: Shirley and Ivan Elwood of Franklin, Phyllis and Thomas Smith of Endicott, N.Y., Linda and Bert Honaker of West Enosburg, Laurie and Spencer Elwood of West Enosburg, and Daniel and Patricia Lynn Fortin of Ellenburg Center, N.Y; her grandchildren and their families: Stacey White, her husband, Steve, and their children, Dylan and Makayla, Heather Vaillancourt, her husband, Joey, and their children, Hunter and Hailey, Justin Elwood, Jessica Halofsky and her husband, Joshua, Aaron Smith, Scott Howard, Hannah Honaker, Wayne Honaker, Beth Elwood, Nathan Elwood, Bryant Fortin, and Tyler Fortin; her stepchildren, Terry Poirier and her husband, James, of Montgomery, and Richard Murphy and his wife, Melody, of Lake Hurst, N.J; several step-grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn Williams of St. Albans, Eleanor Maynard of Cambridge, and Shirley Maynard and her husband, Leon, of Bakersfield; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Philippe Fortin, on Aug. 4, 1987.

A memorial service was to be held today, April 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls. There will be no visiting hours.
