Mrs. Wetherby was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Mendon, the daughter of Clinton and Anna (Davis) Balch. She was a former resident of North Clarendon and for the past 17 years has lived in Middletown Springs.

She is survived by her husband, Bert; five daughters, Mrs. Donald Duranty of Bethlehem, NH, Mrs. Donald Rogers of Pownal, Mrs. James Reardon Jr. of Rutland, Mrs. David Keefe of Glens Falls, NY, and Mrs. Roland Parker of Tinmouth; 10 sons, Harmond of Poultney, Clinton, Frank, Alfred, Herbert, Edmund, Bruce, Frederick and Michael, all of Middletown Springs and Roland with the U.S. Navy in the Azores; a brother, Dewey Balch of Castleton; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne Adams of North Clarendon and Mrs. Leon Morton of Cuttingsville; 12 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 1960 at 2 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home, Rutland. Interment will be in Spafford Cemetery, North Clarendon.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

ObituaryOct 23, 1981  OBITUARY: Bert Wetherby, 76, of Rutland, VT, father of Helen Rogers of Cedar Hill Road, Pownal, VT, died Saturday at the Rutland, VT Hospital after a short illness. His wife, the former Mamie Balch, died several years ago.

Born in Shrewsbury, VT, May 24, 1905, he was the son of David and Emily (Williams) Wetherby. Before moving to Rutland, VT 15 years ago, he lived in Middleteown Springs, VT.

Mr. Wetherby worked at the International Paper Co. He retired in 1967.

Besides his daughter in Pownal, VT, he leaves four other daughters and nine sons; 39 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1981, at the Aldis Funeral Home, Rutland, VT. The Rev. Irving French, pastor of the Congregational Church there, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Spafford Cemetery, Clarenden, VT.
