Mrs. Bouthillier was employed as a nurse’s aide for several years at Orleans County Hospital. She married Antoine “Tony” Bouthillier on Aug. 15, 1936. He predeceased her in 1983.

She is survived by two sons, Lansford “Lanny” Bouthillier of Duxbury, Mass., and Gary Bouthillier of Valdese, N.C; five grandchildren, Graham, Laurie, Mark, Tyler, Bethany; and a brother, Harry L. Cook of Burlington. She was predeceased by a brother, John Wesley Cook.

Funeral services will be held in Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport on Monday, Sept. 16, 1991 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Maurice Rouelle officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Cemetery in Newport. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 15, 19991, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements are by Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport.

ObituaryFeb 15, 1946  OBITUARY: George Lansford Cook died suddenly of coronary thrombosis at his late home in Coventry on February 4, 1946.

He was born August 27, 1872, in Mansonville, Que., the son of the late James Madison and Sarah (Duffer) Cook. A carpenter by trade, he lived the greater part of his life in the towns of Irasburg, Coventry and Newport.

On November 8, 1897, he was married at East Berkshire to Eva Armilla Heerman, who survives him, along with two sons and a daughter, John W. Cook, Harry L. Cook and Mrs. Antonio Bouthillier, and a sister, Mrs. J. H. Rogers of Newport. Two other children are deceased, Merna L. and Lyle H. Cook.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Coventry February 7, 1946, at 2:30 p.m. Entombment was at the East Main Street Cemetery, Newport, and the burial will take place at Coventry cemetery in the spring. Rev. W. A. Bugden, pastor of the Newport United Churches, was the officiating clergyman and voiced words of comfort to the grieving family and friends of the deceased.

Having served the country in the Spanish American War, the late Mr. Cook was a member of Furman Camp, United Spanish American War Veterans at Newport. The following members of the camp served as bearers at the service: Arthur Fisher, Archie Wells, Dr. E. H. Mills, Edmund Taylor, Charles Williams, William Griffin and Alex Brigham.

Following Rev. Mr. Bugden’s remarks at the service, the members of Farman Camp extended their departed comrade military honors which concluded with the sounding of taps by Ivan Fifield. George Corrow and Melvin Kennison of the Newport Post, American Legion, acting as color guards during the military service.

Among those from out-of-town attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Guyette, Springfield; Mrs. Arlene Kneeland, Livermore Falls, N.H; Mrs. Louis Lee, Lebanon, N.H; Mrs. Stephen Morse, Lyndon; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gross, Enosburg; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clark, Richford; Mrs. Goldie Reed, Richford; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kinne, White River Junction.

She retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was an avid Redskin Fan. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Floyd P. Light.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff and her friends at Mayfair House and Maryview Hospital for all the compassionate care.
