He was born on January 15, 1942 in Littleton, NH to Harry and Florence (Trevena) Simpson. Dale was raised by his grandparents Stephen and Alice Trevena until their deaths and then by his uncle Lawrence Trevena on the family farm in Lisbon. He attended and graduated from Lisbon High School. He went on to serve in the US Army. Dale married Catherine Knapp on September 7, 1968. Together they had a daughter and a son.

He enjoyed attending local sporting events. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and working the family land, especially sugaring with the family. He was also very fond of spending time with his grandchildren and sought to teach and pass along his knowledge and life experiences. When living in Lisbon, he was a volunteer on the Lisbon Fire Department, and a member of the Whitefield Fire Department when living in Whitefield. Dale was also a member of the Whitefield Lions Club. He served on the Planning Board for several years while living in Columbia. He worked for Public Service for 38 years, first reading meters in Lisbon, then as a lineman in Whitefield and Columbia, before retiring in 2006 as a working Foreman.

Dale is survived by his son Craig and (Heidi) Simpson; 7 grandchildren; Grace, Mercy, Piper, Patience, Josiah, Micah and Noah; and former spouse Catherine Knapp. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Connell.

By his request, there will be a graveside service for immediate family at the Lyman cemetery.

On June 12, 1937, she married Walter M. Campbell.

Over the years, Ethel worked at Hovey's Department Store in Woodsville, was the receptionist and billing clerk for Jock Oil, and worked at Cottage Hospital. Caring for her family, however, was her main priority. She was also a former member of the Woodsville Universalist Church. She was a passionate Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots fan.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter on October 31, 1988; a grandson Steven Diaz on October 21, 1994; her two sisters Florence Stimpson in October 1956 and Katherine Berry on October 20, 1997; and her brother Lawrence Trevena in 1978. She is survived by her two daughters Betty Campbell of East Thetford, VT, and her companion Dennis Chase of Bath, NH, and Doris Shockley and husband Edward of Lewes, DE; three grandchildren, Sandee Robinson and husband Gary of Thetford, VT and their daughter Shelby, Mike Ingerson of Houston, TX and his son Kevin of Virginia, Shawn Ingerson and wife Donna of Cockeysville, MD and their children Greg and Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews.

ObituarySep 18, 2014  OBITUARY: FREMONT, NH: Miriam Frances (Trevena) St. Hilaire, 90, of Fremont and former longtime resident of Kingston, passed away on September 17, 2014 after a period of failing health, at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont. Born on August 2, 1924, in Lyman, N.H., and raised and educated in Lyman, she was the daughter of the late John Kenneth Trevena and Rosabelle (Danforth) Trevena.
In 1941, she married Gerard Leo St. Hilaire, and in 1957 they moved to Kingston, N.H., where they raised their family. Miriam worked hard at home raising her five children.
She is survived by daughter, Linda St. Hilaire of Marietta, Ga; and sons, Wayne St. Hilaire and his wife, Kathy of Brentwood, Richard St. Hilaire and his wife, Vivian of Kingston, and Craig St. Hilaire and his wife, Carol of Barrington, N.H; grandchildren, Alyssa, Cynthia, Michelle, Kristin, Jenna, Nicole, and Josh; daughter-in-law, Amy Hess; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard; her son, Philip; brothers, Kenneth Trevena and John Trevena; and her sister, Harriet Lampro.
A member of the Trinity Order of the Eastern Star, Miriam enjoyed collecting sea shells, gardening, canning, and scrapbooking.
Miriam will be remembered for her constant smile and heart of gold. She loved showing the photographs she and Gerard took throughout their marriage and the many places they travelled. Her grandchildren were in awe of the stories she told of how she had to ride her pony, Daisy, to school, even in the snow. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The family thanks the staff at Poplin Way Assisted Living, her home for the past eight years, and the friends she made and adored there. The family also thanks the staff at Home Instead, especially Carol Cummings, who provided assistance, companionship, and genuine care and compassion the past two years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. St. Hilaire's life celebration on Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, N.H. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday at 1:15 p.m. in the funeral home. A private family burial service will take place at Grove Hill Cemetery, Lisbon, N.H. Donations in Mrs. St. Hilaire's memory may be made to Brookhaven Hospice, 100 Lafayette Road, Hampton Falls, NH, 03844. ObituaryOct 28, 2006  OBITUARY: Gerard L. St. Hilaire, 84, of Kingston NH, died October 27, 2006, at the Haven Health Center in Hampton NH after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 27, 1922, in Standon, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Edmund and Dianna (Dion) St. Hilaire. Gerard moved from Canada to Hardwick VT in 1928. He completed the 8th grade in Lisbon NH before becoming a woodsman to help support his family of twelve. In 1942, Gerard enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. During WWII he served as a crew chief on A-20 and B-25 bombers before his discharge in 1945. After the war he was employed at the Rock of Ages quarry in Barre VT. In 1951 he became a certified airline pilot for Caledonia Airways in St. Johnsbury VT. He was later employed as a pilot for Northeast Airlines, National Airlines, and Delta Airlines before retiring in 1977. He moved to New Hampshire in 1953 and was a Kingston resident since 1957 and for many years wintered in Florida. A member of the Gideon Masonic Lodge in Kingston, he was a 32nd Degree Mason and Bektash Shriner. He was also a member of the American Legion Davis Post in Plaistow NH. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved to play cards and was a six time cribbage champion. Other hobbies include piloting his personal Lake Amphibian seaplane and traveling all over the United States and Canada with his wife Miriam in an RV.

He was predeceased by a son Philip M. St. Hilaire, who died in 1976.

Gerard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Miriam (Trevena) St. Hilaire; daughter Linda St. Hilaire of Marietta GA; sons Wayne St. Hilaire and wife Kathy of Brentwood NH; Richard D. St. Hilaire and wife Vivian of Kingston NH, and Craig K. St. Hilaire and wife Amy of Barrington NH; grandchildren Alyssa, Cynthia, Michelle, Jenna, Kristin, Nicole, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Gregory, Madelyn, and Kaylee.
