ObituaryDec 22, 2018  OBITUARY: Barbara Ann (Forrester) Davies, 85, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of David Edward Davies, to whom she was married on October 8, 1971. She was the former wife of the late Robert Elliott.

Born on September 20, 1933 in Whitefield, NH, she was the daughter of the late Thornton and Margaret (Audette) Forrester.

She was raised and educated in Whitefield and Littleton, NH, received her G.E.D., and was a graduate of New England School of Floral Design in Norton, MA. Before retiring, Barbara worked for many years in home day care in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as a private respite caregiver in New Hampshire, as an Avon Representative, and for a shoe manufacturer.

A resident of Attleboro since 1986, Barbara previously lived in Barre, VT, having lived most of her life in New Hampshire.

A kind, caring woman of faith, she attended the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, and volunteered at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the N.R.A. and the Republican National Committee. Barbara was a voracious reader who enjoyed gardening, taking walks in nature, trips to New Hampshire and Vermont, playing the piano, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics in New Hampshire, and especially spending time with her cherished family.

In addition to her husband, David, she leaves her loving children: Valerie (Elliott) Lewis and her husband, Richard Lewis, of Barre, VT; and Rick Elliott and his wife, Linda (Sweetland) Elliott, of Attleboro, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Barbara was the dear sister of Phyllis Huntley of West Wareham, MA, Terry Forrester of Rome, GA, and was predeceased by her siblings, the late Richard Forrester, the late Donald Forrester, the late Arthur Forrester, and the late Henry Forrester. She leaves her mother-in-law, Alberta Davidson of Tilton, NH; her sister-in-law of Patricia Wentworth of Florida; and her brother-in-law, Richard Davies of South Carolina; as well as three generations of nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services officiated by her son-in-law, Richard Lewis, will be privately held in Spring 2019 in Parkside Cemetery, Whitefield, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara to either the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 or a veteran's organization of one's choice, or to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, South Dakota 57325.

Born, in Whitefield, New Hampshire, the son of the late Thornton H. and the late Margaret (Audette) Forrester, he grew up, in Littleton, NH, entered the Navy when he was 17 years old and settled, in Fairhaven, in the late 1960s.

Artie served in the U.S. Navy for, 15 years, as a signalman and a M.P. on the U.S.S. Saratoga.

He loved the ocean, discussing politics and was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Laurie A. Viera, of Acushnet; and Stacey Forrester Rebelo, of Fall River; four sons: Scott A. Forrester, of Chestnut Hill; Stephen E. Forrester, of Dartmouth; Larry A. Forrester, of Wrentham; and Thornton H. "T.H." Forrester, of Mattapoisett; a brother; Terry Forrester, of Rome, GA; two sisters: Barbara Davies, of Attleboro; and Phyllis Huntley, of Wareham; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Artie was the brother of the late Richard and Henry Forrester.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and memorial calling hours will be, Thursday, from 5-8 PM, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven.

A graveside service with military honors will be held, Friday, at 10:00 AM, in St. Patricks Cemetery, in Wareham.

Born and raised in Newport, NH, daughter of the late Ernest and Natalie A. (Brissette) Bertrand, she settled in Fairhaven over 45 years ago. Pat was a Health Unit Coordinator at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford for many years until her retirement.

She loved collecting recipes and cooking. She also collected lighthouses and enjoyed spending time outside in the sun. She especially enjoyed time spent with her loving family.

She is survived by two daughters, Laurie A. Arabian of Acushnet, and Stacey Forrester Rebelo of Fall River; four sons, Scott A. Forrester of Holbrook, Stephen E. Forrester of Fort Meyers, FL, Larry A. Forrester of Wrentham, and Thornton H. “T.H.” Forrester of Mattapoisett; two sisters, Deanna Waterman of Newport, NH, and Deborah Roberts of Grantham, NH; beloved sisters- in-law, Phyllis Huntley of Wareham and Barbara Davies of Attleboro and brother-in-law, Terry Forrester of GA; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was the sister of the late Ernest “Paul” Bertrand and Eddyarnold Bertrand.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and memorial calling hours are Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5-8pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. Interment will be private.

ObituaryNov 6, 2004  OBITUARY: WAREHAM - Robert E. Huntley, 69, of West Wareham died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis C. (Forrester) Huntley.

Born in Rockland, Maine, the son of the late Edward and Alta Huntley, he moved to Fairhaven in the 1960s and to West Wareham in 1972.

Mr. Huntley was the captain of many scallop boats during his 54-year career as a commercial fisherman. Per family tradition, Mr. Huntley often went to sea with his sons as members of his crew.

He was an avid pool player, active in the leagues at The Fan Club. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and visiting Maine.

Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Peggy Huntley of West Wareham; six sons, Mark Huntley of New Bedford, David Villanueva of West Wareham, Chris Huntley of Maine, Steve Villanueva of Plymouth and Bobby Villanueva and John Villanueva, both of Wareham; a sister, Maryellen Rezendes; 11 grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Forrester of West Wareham.

He was the father of the late Phillip and Paul Huntley.

His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Seamen's Bethel, 15 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Stott, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway.
