ObituaryDec 31, 1918  OBITUARY: Arnold P. Wait, a veteran of the Civil war and a member of Roberts post, G.A.R., died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.S. Rowe, 15 Adams street, after a long illness from cancer. Mr. Wait was born in Danby, January 11, 1834. He enlisted as corporal in Company D, 7th Vermont infantry, December 11, 1861, and was promoted to sergeant, October 1, 1862, and to first lieutenant, February 28, 1865. Mr. Wait was married on February 17, 1862, to Hila Turner, at Shoreham. She died two years ago. He is survived by seven sons and daughters, Wallace H. Wait, Mrs. L.S. Bailey and Mrs. Rowe of Rutland, Charles Wait of Brandon, Mrs. Abbott Case of Plattsburg, N.Y., Mrs. A.A. Courcelle of Rutland and Wilbur Wait of Brandon. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the house.

The burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, the G.A.R. ritual being read at the grave.
