ObituaryNov 7, 2010  OBITUARY: DOVER - Edith Cunningham Crocker died peacefully at home on Nov. 1, 2010 in Dover Mass. She was lovingly surrounded by family at the time.

Edie was84 years old and enjoyed a long, full and vibrant life. Born in Dedham, Mass. on Nov. 13, 1925, she was daughter to Edward and Elizabeth Cunningham.

She was a long-time resident of Dover, moving to Franconia, N.H. for a time and then returning to Westwood, Mass. where she most recently resided.

Edie married Julian Crocker on March 15, 1951 and together they raised four wonderful children.

She is predeceased by Julian in 1999. Edie was a graduate of The Winsor School in Brookline. She was actively involved in numerous charities and donated her time generously.

She was an excellent tennis player, enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Her happiest moments were spent with family, particularly with her grandchildren.

Edie is survived by one sister, Margaret C. Clark of Naples, Fla. She is also survived by daughters Dee and husband Keith McKown of Lyman, N.H. and Sarah Crocker of Colchester, Vt. and sons Jay Crocker and wife Maria of Dover, Mass. and Samuel C. Crocker of Hamilton, Mass. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Alyssa McKown, Nicole Crocker, Cary Crocker, Brett Crocker, Samuel Crocker and Carter Crocker.

A service will be held at Saint Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Dover, Mass. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. with a gathering to follow. In Edie's memory, please send donations in lieu of flowers to VNA Care Network, 5 Federal Street, Danvers, Massachusetts 01923.

Sarah was happiest at home on her land with her hands in the dirt, the wind on her face and the sun warming her entire being. She will be remembered for a sense of beauty and style, her philanthropy, commitment to conservation, fondness for practical jokes and unique visual artistry. Her bronze sculptures touched many including a commissioned work in Burlington, VT on permanent display at the Main St. Landing.

Sarah is survived by her sister, Dee Crocker McKown (Keith), her brothers, Jay Crocker (Maria) and Sam Crocker, very special nieces and nephews, Alyssa McKown (Silas Gilbert), Nikki Villarreal (Dustin), Cary Crocker, Brett Crocker, Sam Crocker and Carter Crocker and a great-nephew, Asa Gilbert. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Julian and Edith (Cunningham) Crocker of Dover, MA.

Sarah was born in Boston, attended Winsor School in MA, California College of Arts & Crafts and Goddard College in VT. Sarah's volunteer work included gardening projects for non-profits, support of local efforts to promote visual arts and most recently, Meals on Wheels.

ObituaryMay 30, 2015  OBITUARY: EAST BERKSHIRE - Nellie F. Hoadley, age 98, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans with her family at her side.

She was born in Abbotts Corners, Quebec Canada on November 25, 1916 the daughter of the late Howard & Mabel (Tracy) Goodhue.

Nellie was a resident of Berkshire most of her life and a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in East Berkshire where she was very active teaching Sunday School and hosting Bible Studies. She was also a member if the Berkshire Historical Society. Nellie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wood working. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy Lamoureux and her husband Paul of Berkshire, James Hoadley and his wife Alice of Vineland, NJ, and Patrick Hoadley and his wife Martha of East Bekrshire; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her husband Donald Hoadley; brothers, Claire & Lawrence Goodhue; and sisters, Lois Goodhue & Irene McGrath.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment followed in the East Berkshire Congregation Cemetery.

A time of visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
