Mr.Russell was born in Rutland and spent the most of his life in this town.At the time of his death he was employed by the Staso Milling company here.He was a member of the Lee lodge,F & A.M. the Lone Pine chapter, Q.E.S.,and the Crippin-Fellows post, American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; a son, John; two daughters, Glenda and Joan; his father, Charles Russell; and a sister, Mrs.Benjamin Byrne of North Poultney.
Private prayer services were held at the house at 1:30 and services were at the Federated church in Castleton.

The bearers were Harold White, Henry Langdon, Charles Woodbury, George B.Wright, Clarence McClure and Raymond Ransom.
Burial was in Hillside cemetery, Castleton where Masonic and Legion services were held. Rev.Edgar Johnson of Fair Haven officiated.
