ObituaryOct 9, 1912  OBITUARY: Manchester, Iowa, Oct. 9-Funeral services over the remains of Henry J.Percival, a well-known horse man of Manchester, and widely known in Iowa, were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. Smith in this city yesterday afternoon. Mr.. Percival was born In Ireland on December 9, 1842, and came to America at the age of 17 years.
Manchester was the home of the deceased for over fifty years. Mr. Percival was one of the best judges of horses, and during his later years took a keen interest in the training of horses for the tracks. In 1872 he was united in marriage with Catherine
Scanlon, who died ten years later. In 1901 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Mary G. Webber. Deceased is survived by one son, William Percival of Nebraska, and two brothers and three sisters.

Henry Percival
The death of Henry Percival occurred in this city on Sunday evening, October 6, 1912 The funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith on North Franklin street this afternoon, Rev. W. H. Ensign officiating. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

The deceased was born in Longford County Ireland, on December 9, 1842, and came to America at the age of 17 years, locating at Jersey City, New York. He came to Manchester about forty years ago and with the exception of a short period when he lived in Waterloo he has made this city his home. He was united in marriage to Katherine Scanlon in 1872, her death occurring 10 years later. In 1901 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Mary G. Webber. The deceased is survived by one son, William, who resides in Nebraska; two brothers, Frank of Brooklyn, New York, and R. J., of Sprit Lake, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Shaw of Waterloo; Mrs. Anna Farrell of Nevada, and one who resides in New York.

Surviving are four daughters, Eloise R. Hollowell and Dolna R. Proctor, both of Hertford, Annie Marie Ward and Carolyn R. Harris, both of Suffolk; two sons, Albert Riddick of Hobbsville and Fred N. Riddick Sr. of Sunbury; two sisters, Edna White of Hobbsville and Myrtle Baker of Belvidere; a brother, Herman Ward of Hobbsville; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Howard Riddick.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. Vern Gilmer and her grandson, the Rev. Wayne Proctor. Burial will follow in the Riddick Family Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the residence.
