ObituaryOct 27, 1986  OBITUARY: A man found dead on a Connecticut River Island bled to death after being stabbed repeatedly, the attorney general's office said today.
Andrew Serell, a lawyer in the attorney general's office, said the body has been tentatively identified as that of Steven J. Hill, 34, of Lebanon. He had been missing.
Confirmation that the body is Hill's should come after a comparison of dental records, Serell said.
An autopsy performed Sunday by the medical examiner, Dr. Roger Fossum, indicated that Hill was stabbed 12 times in the chest and back, Serell said. He said two wounds penetrated the heart.
The time of death is estimated between one and two weeks ago, he said.
Detective Charles Holden of the Vermont State Police said the body was found Saturday by boys hunting in the area.
