She was born June 26, 1929 in South Richford the daughter of the late Harlan & Flora (Hogaboom) Marcy.

Beatrice died as she lived, with strength and dignity. In her younger years she loved to do crafts, ceramic, quilting and crocheting. Her real love was her family. She cherished all the times spent with everyone of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their spouses and children through other marriages were considered her own. She has a heart of gold and touched the lives of everyone that met her. There was not a negative bone in her body and exuded her love unconditionally.

Beatrice attended schools in South Richford and Enosburgh and married William Longe on July 1, 1947. Beatrice was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Martha Washington Chapter. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, sugaring, farming, and gambling in Las Vegas & Atlantic City.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Longe of Enosburgh; her children and their spouses, Ronald & Caroline Longe of Franklin, Patrick & Wilda Longe of West Berkshire, Steven & Janet Longe of West Berkshire, Timmy & Cindy Longe of Enosburgh, Linda & James Nelson of Gainesville, FL, and
Diane Chaffee of Franklin; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; her sister, Bernice Longley of Johnson; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Chaffee; her daughter-in-law, Marjolaine Longe; her sisters and their husbands, Doris & Floyd Rhodes & Gladys & Robert Dolan; her brothers and their spouses, Leonard Marcy & Ethan & Joyce Marcy; and her brother-in-law, Cedric Longley

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the East Berkshire Congregational Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

She was born June 26, 1929 in Richford to the late Harland & Flora (Hogaboom) Marcy.

Bernice married Cedric Longley Sr. on July 5, 1947. They worked side-by-side for many years at their Willow Crossing dairy farm in Johnson, they also took care of cemeteries in the Enosburgh area for several years. Bernice was a great cook and she co-owned and operated Grandma’s Bake Shop in Richford with her sister, Doris. She loved spending time with her family; Christmas was her favorite time of the year, but Sunday dinners were a close second! Bernice always looked forward to outings with her sisters. In her spare time, Bernice liked to crochet and go camping.

She is survived by her children, Cedric Longley Jr. and his wife, Jacquelyn of Eden and Dean Longley and his wife, Gail of Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Julie Longley-Gillen and her husband, Justin, Andrew Longley and Rachal Longley-Wood and her husband, Travis; 2 great grandchildren, Kendra and Morgan; her beloved dog, Missy and many nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Cedric Longley Sr; her twin sister, Beatrice Longe and her husband, William; siblings, Doris Rhodes and her husband, Floyd, Gladys Dolan and her husband, Robert and Ethan Marcy and his wife, Joyce and her siblings-in-law, Merrill, Raymond, Thayer, Clarence, Leonard & Charles Longley, Joyce Marcy, Eunice Messier, Hildred Greenwood, Beatrice Malone and Blanche Malone.

Bernice’s family would like to thank the staff from Forest Hills Residential Care Home and Lamoille Home Health & Hospice for the excellent care given to her.

A funeral service will be Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in the West Enosburgh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral at Spears Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Bakersfield, the son of Dennis and Bessie (Daigue) Dolan. He attended school in Bakersfield and at the age of 17 earned an automotive mechanic certificate. Bob was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Dec. 27, 1945, he married Gladys L. Marcy of Enosburg. They lived in Bakersfield where he worked for Chauncey Start Garage for many years. Later he worked at the Woodstock Garage and then for a short time he owned and operated Dolan Texaco in Wilder. Bob finished his career at Chouinard Garage in Barre where he worked for several years before his retirement in 1978.

He enjoyed hunting, playing bingo, camping, playing cards with friends and family and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion Post #26 in White River Jct. as well as the Post in Enosburg.

He is survived by his wife of Williamstown, four daughters, Lucille M Churchill and her husband Tim of South Royalton, Patricia A. Blakeney and her husband Raymond of Bethel, Donna L. Harris and her husband Tony of Worcester, and Pamela J. Fifield of Bethel; also 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Beatrice Longe and Bernice Longley both of Enosburg and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Joshua Northrup, a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Blakeney, four brothers, Kenneth, Ralph, Daniel and Raymond Dolan, a sister-in-law, Doris Rhodes, and a brother-in-law, Ethan Marcy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Tunbridge Church on Route 110 in Tunbridge. Calling hours will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service from 1 - 2 p.m. Burial will be held later in the springtime in the Stevens Ferry Cemetery in Enosburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, VT & NH Chapter, 172 N. Main Street, Barre, VT 05641-4124.

Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at her home with her husband of 69 years and loving family at her side. Billy & Beatrice were married on July 1, 1947.

He was born in Fairfield on April 8, 1926 the son of the late Gordon & Myrtle (Bovat) Longe.

Billy loved to joke. He loved to kid the nurses, caring for him, right to the end. He joked with family, too. It’s how he showed he cared. He really loved his family but he lived for his wife. Parted for only five days, he went to be with her again. He has no more pain and suffering and can breathe freely once more. Billy had one of the biggest hearts and his face lit up when company entered the room. It especially lit up when the little ones came to visit. He was a gentle giant and the kids loved him just as much as he loved them. He was a very hard working man, working until he was 75 and he would have kept going if he could have.

Billy attended schools in East Fairfield, Enosburgh, Sheldon & Richford. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Masonic Lodge #78 F&AM of Enosburg Falls. He was a lifelong farmer, cattle dealer and enjoyed collecting guns & watches. He also loved to play cards.

He also had a special place in his heart for their dog, Missy. He treated her like his own child. She ate what he ate, went where he went, and when Billy or Bea had to be in the hospital for an overnight stay…she waited on the window seat watching for them to return.

Billy is survived by his children and their spouses, Ronald & Caroline Longe of Franklin, Patrick & Wilda Longe of West Berkshire, Steven & Janet Longe of West Berkshire, Timmy & Cindy Longe of Enosburgh, Linda & James Nelson of Gainesville, FL, and Diane Chaffee of Franklin; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; his sister-in-law, Bernice Longley of Johnson; many nieces and nephews.
