Born in West Dennis, he was the son of the late Fred and Dana (Nickerson) Chapman. Mr. Chapman was educated in the Dennis schools and had conducted his own painting contracting business in this village most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Hargreaves) Chapman of Dennis Port; a son, William F. Chapman of South Dennis; two daughters, Mrs. Helene Lynch of Sharon and Roma Sheldon of Brockton; a brother, Robert Chapman, Upper County Rd., 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Clifford Ward, pastor of the First Baptist Church of West Harwich and Dennis Port, officiated at the services. Interment was in the Swan Lake Cemetery here.
