ObituaryNov 23, 1976  OBITUARY: MR. ENSIGN CURTIS. NORTH HERO--Mr. Ensign Curtis, 92, passed away early Monday morning in a St. Albans Nursing Home after a short illness. He was a retired dairy farmer and lived in Alburg and North Hero most of his lifetime. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Curtis was born in Alburg, July 29, 1884, the son of Heman and Zelphia (Norris) Curtis. He attended schools in Alburg. In 1905 he married Lila (Hopson), who died in 1964. His survivors include his three daughters, one sister, 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, with the Rev. Marvin Hazzard, pastor of the North Hero United Methodist Church officiating. Internment will follow in the family lot in Derry Valley Cemetery in Clarenceville, Que.
